My notes at WA's caucus: Obama picked 4 to 1 over Hillary |

A very inspirational day!
I live in a very beautiful but red county in rural Washington state and today's Democratic caucus was standing room only.
The first precinct talley revealed a 3 to 1 for Obama ratio vs Clinton with a number of undecideds and a couple for Richardson - then came the 1 minute speeches.
Those for Clinton cited her experience, inner working knowledge of how to get things done, and her feisty nature to never give up.
Obama folks (myself included), cited his vision, his ability to draw voters from indies and disaffected rethugs, the fact he represents real change, and an almost universal appeal to younger voters. The few younger voters in the room were very enthusiastic for Obama.
The facilitator requested we keep the comments positive - that we were all democrats after all - but some dude went off on Obama regarding him taking money from corporations tied to the nuclear power industry (he did not cite any references) so I felt compelled to remind the room of Hillary's excessive donations from the pharmaceutical industry.
After an hour of speeches we did the second vote - Obama got almost all the undecideds and the final talley was 4 to 1 for Obama with no undecideds or Richardson votes left.
People were amazed at the turn out!
All in all - it was wonderful to see the enthusiasm and new people who have decided Dem (and in particular) Obama is the way to go!
On Edit: Wanted to add from our room - Obama got 4 delegates to the county convention and Hillary got 1

Great to hear so many are interested, especially the young people. Glad the moderator said to keep things positive....think he'd like to be a mod here and help Skinner out?

Thanks for the report!
We were supposed to make speeches? LOL! Nobody did here in Longview. We just asked if anyone at our precinct table wanted to try to convince the others to change their votes. One guy talked for about thirty seconds, but as it was clear the two old ladies in question couldn't even hear him, that was that.
Our vote came-out 4 to 1 for Obama as well.

Speeches allowed after the first vote - limited to 1 minute per person. There were about 60 - 65 folks in our room, so we really had some great debates. As far as I could tell, we had 6 undecideds originally and not one of them went for Clinton at the end of the day.
Sorry y'all did not do the speeches - that was the funnest part. Interesting that your caucus also came out 4 to 1 for Obama.
Thanks for going! :hi:

9. I have a child that just got back about an hour ago from a |

caucus in Seattle. It was 3 to 1 in favor of Barack. She is a delegate for Barack and so is her SO. I am thrilled she is part of the process even if I disagree with her choice of candidate.

I don't think I could be so understanding, if it were me. I'd tell my kid to hit the bricks.
