17. I'm pleased that Obama is for an exchange of national service for tuition. |
|
One of the reasons I supported Edwards back in 2004, and again this time around, is because of this very thing. John will be glad to hear Obama agrees.

11. Say it again, Frenchie |
|
Tonight, if he wins Louisiana for sure, Obama becomes officially the front-runner, regardless of what happens tomorrow in Maine.
And if he sweeps VA, MD and DC, then it looks like it's time for the honchos in the Democratic Party to start getting with the program -- the Obama program. Of course, Wisconsin will be played as a major test, and if Obama wins there he will be in a very good place to compete in Ohio and Texas (if he wins at least one of those two he's OK, especially if he also gets Vt and RI). And then there's PA.
If he is clearly way out in front after March 4, but still lacks enough pledged delegates for the nomination, I think it right for us Obama-supporters to INSIST that he not be denied victory by the Superdelegates. One face-saving way out would be to hold later caucuses or better yet primaries FOR REAL in Michigan and FL, to give Obama the chance to make it (or come close to an absolute majority) with pledged delegates.
Maybe this sounds a bit optimistic, and who knows what setbacks are being readied for him at this moment? But if you had said to me two months ago that Obama would today be where he is, I (though I donate to his campaign periodically) would have said you were in Lala land.

20. I can't get over how smart or attuned he and his people are. |
|
When they reach for something, it's usually the right thing. They screwed up horribly over that idiot ex-gay person but aside from that, they consistently make the better choice.
And humor. They use humor and it works. :wow:

14. I've been skeptical about Obama being our nominee |
|
I must admit that I have been a little reluctant about having him as our nominee. It's not that I don't like him, I was just stuck in the pragmatic mode of old ways of thinking. Tonight, he made his case for me and I'm on board and entirely impressed with his speech to the JJ dinner.
We've got our winner.

15. I am glad he said some thing about new fuels and new business |
|
I never could understand the lack of not seeing the new jobs in new types cars and power that the rest of the world is working on and all these business people just stayed with the status quo. God sakes we would be still making wagon with that thinking. Some times these so called great business men are really behind the times.
