The nomination is still Hillary's to lose! |
|
Barack Obama had a great night.
Super Tuesday he was able to pull off a virtual tie.
He's got a lot of money.
And he killed any notion of the inevitability for Clinton.
BUT...
This is still Hillary Clinton's nomination to lose.
And some of you are suggesting she should drop out, claiming she has no chance, claiming Obama has this in the bag, and telling the Clinton supporters basically to face the "facts" that haven't became reality yet--and may not pan out.
Obama is a formidable opponent.
But Hillary Clinton is still the candidate to beat. She's got some favorable contests coming up, her fundraising totals are bouncing back, and she's still the 800 pound gorilla in the room.

2. I dunno. It's starting to look pretty bad for her. |

Wouldn't call it "curtains," yet, but I saw Edwards going down...and I'm getting the same feeling about Clinton.

7. Edwards relied on Iowa too heavily, and couldn't get media attention. |

Hillary is still in a great position.
One Edwards sadly never had.
Sigh. I miss John Edwards.

14. Why in the world does she "deserve it" any more then Obama? |
|
Posts like this are just dumb. No one DESERVES anything.. and this "I deserve it" attitude has gotten her into a virtual tie instead of a large lead. I hope she keeps on thinking she "deserves" it all the way out of this competition.
While Obama works his ass off to try and EARN it.

She's pissed away a lead that was deemed insurmountable a month before Iowa.
She pissed away a war chest of money that dwarfed her competiton to the point that she had to loan her campaign cash and her staff went unpaid.
She has been off message, contradictory, on the defensive, and needed a crying gimmick in New Hampshire to get her campaign back on track.
She was supposed to put Obama away on Tuesday, and not only has she not done that, she got her ass handed to her tonight. So once again, she has to set up firewalls in Texas and Ohio to blunt Obama's momentum. So once again, she is on the defense, not offense.
Obama's acting like a front-runner, she's acting like the Mets last year--10 game lead with 14 to play, and she's pissing it down her leg.
She can't stay on message, she can't put Obama on the defensive and gain the initiative, and she is losing the money battle, as well.
What, exactly, has she done to put herself in a position to deserve to win, other than say she deserved to win for over a year?

8. I really think Maine is critical for Hillary now... |
|
If she doesn't take this, she could have a string of bad showings, which would hurt her chances on March 4. If she does take it, even if she doesn't really pick up a delegate advantage here, she can make the case that she's still taking some of these post SuperTuesday states.

9. You better tell her she's still the establishment candidate. She's now claiming OBAMA is. Maybe |
|
that's why he's now winning-people are sick of the Clintons' games.
