Candidate X Has a Nominal Delegate Lead, Candidate Y Leads Popular Vote, Which Way Do Superdelegates |
|
Edited on Mon Feb-11-08 12:57 AM by tritsofme
Break at the Convention where neither candidate commands a majority of pledged delegates and it all rides on the supers?
Lets say the lead in pledged delegates is pretty insignificant, say 50-100 delegates at most, however the other candidate leads in the popular vote total by over 100,000.
I can't see such a scenario being anything other than a bloodbath.

In this scenario neither candidate has a majority of pledged delegates, it all rides on the supers.

5. Here is my question and thinking ............... |
|
Will they do a separate roll call vote State by State just for superdelegates OR will the votes be lumped in with each state's delegation? Since they are super delegates I believe we are entitled to see their big supervote. When did this super delegate status come into being?
I would like to see two rounds of votes starting with the big super delegates polled by roll call and calling out titles or creds state by state.
Imagine this scenario: Ask each super delegate do you accept your responsibility as a superdelegate? If affirmative then ask who will you cast your supervote for then? Every party Member should know what the Superclass wants for the rest of us and personally the whole idea of a Super delegate runs contrary to my idea of what the credited founder of the Democratic Party intended.
Could the superdelegate be dethroned by general delegate action via suspending the super delegate PRIOR to the vote to select a candidate?
What say you?
