I found another potential running mate |
|
I think that Rep. Henry Waxman of California, who has worked tirelessly for investigation of Cheney's Energy committee meeting, who has helped out the GAO in quashing misleading stories from the start about Clinton's people trashing the Capitol, who has never been afraid to say what he needs to say about the current administration is a model of integrity and coolheadedness. Anyone agree that he would be a good potential running mate?
He wouldn't help much with the southern states, I admit, which is where either Clark or Edwards would be a boon, but as far as a person with the right personal values, a staunch defender of the rights of all, and someone who has the integrity to be a good VP, Waxman fills those shoes very well.
Anyone have any thoughts?

I had a thought on a treasury secretary. Lou Dobbs. He's earned it lately.

2. There are a lot of good people |

He has to choose from.
Please John, do it soon. This VP sweepstakes speculation is nutso.
Of course I don't really mean that. The more talk about it, the more free media he gets. It's just tiring from my end. ;)

3. Graham has done alot more legislative fighting against them |
|
at least he has done more of prominence. He was the first one to raise the flag about their blacking out of the Saudi connection to 9-11, and he has done the most in the senate that I know of in regard to getting paper trails in voting.

California's already in the tank for Kerry and Waxman doesn't really have the charisma and verve the ticket really needs. However, I think Waxman would be a superb choice for AG. He doesn't have what we conventionally think of as "prosecutorial experience", but he has a law degree and certainly knows how to run an investigation.
Waxman's district is staunchly liberal and there's little chance of it falling into repuke hands. We'd lose a strong loyalist in a strategic position, but damn it would be fun to replace the Crisco Kid with our own attack dog.
If not AG, Waxman would also be a good choice to turn the screws on corporate greedheads as the head of Energy, Interior, or the EPA.
