I suspect that Edwards will endorse Clinton as well |
|
Largely because I think Hillary is pulling out all the stops and promised him the moon in return for an endorsements. Hillary has to own a news cgle this week or she is in trouble.
I don't blame her for that... I don't think it is the least bit ill advised on Edwards part.

Many of us do support Clinton for what she has to offer and do not support Obama because.. we have no idea what he is offering except excitement for the sake of excitement that is translated into a mass hysteria by young impressionable females who go to the football fields and get excited just from the shouting around them.

14. I am an Edwards supporter who voted for Hillary |
|
I find Hillary's health care plan closer to Edwards', and she, at least, has mentioned the goal of working towards single payer. If he chooses to support her, it doesn't meant that he can be bought. That's very inflammatory.

4. He has to do it AFTER the elections on Tuesday though |
|
If he does it today or tomorrow then his announcement will be lost among her defeats in MD DC and VA.

6. I'm not so sure. for one thing Obama has won two states near and dear to JE |
|
South Carolina, his birth state and Louisiana, a state he opened and closed his campaign in and Obama gave a very detailed plan for rebuilding NO. I think that is going to have some bearing with Edwards ultimate decision.

8. Well, we should find out soon enough either way. |

I don't see why Edwards would want to endorse Clinton at this point in the game, not that he won't.

9. This is an interesting dilemma |
|
Yes, he attacked her while still running.
Yet, it is clear that it was Obama's entrance who shuffled the cards. Both Clinton and Edwards were planning on running against each other and Edwards was counting on winning some of the south.
But Obama came from nowhere and, first, won Iowa, after Edwards has been campaigning there since 2004. And then it became Clinton vs. Obama while he was ignored. Last, it was Obama who won Edwards birth state. So, emotionally, at least, he should begrudged Obama.

11. Edwards isn't going to give his endorsement away for a cabinet position. |
|
He will make his decision based on who he feels most closely reflects his own goals. I am not going to venture to guess who that will be at this point.

13. Its not Edwards that is doing the pursuing here ... its Clinton & Obama who want his endorsement. |
|
Edwards is really weighing which one of our two candidates fits better with his platform and frankly, I believe he has a real tough task ahead of him. They both offer different things on different issues. It is wise for Edwards to negotiate a position or a party platform for himself to further his cause to support the middle class, healtcare reform, lobbyist reform etc. and its perfectly understandable of an endorsement.

Clinton has promised him VP and his only real goal in life is to obtain more power. Look at his 2002 AUM vote for starters.
Edwards will endorse Clinton on Wednesday morning denying Obama the high that he's going to be on tommorrow after winning 3 states by 20 points or more.
Clinton/Edwards will be the ticket in 2008 and Obama will fade to obscurity.
At least Johnny will have his power.

19. I tend to agree with you; |
|
Edwards could endorse Hillay because;
1) Hillary's health care proposals are closer to his
2) she talks of government doing for people, universal health care, mortgage freeze, etc. Obama does the inspire thing. Having seen both Edwards & Hillary speak, they are much more alike then Edwards & Obama.
3) She could be exploring ways to further his addenda, in concrete ways, appointment to head of Health & human services for example. She is more capable of making those types of promises to accomplish a particular goal because she knows how the executive branch of gov. really works.
