I'm sure many are as fed up as me at the number of venomous posts directed at other posters. The Republicans have one and only one chance to defeat us in the GE and that's the oldest of strategies divid and conquer. The corporate machine has had a playbook from the beginning. They've worked for a long time setting this up and far too many are falling right into the trap. They ignored progressives from the left how many times did we hear in the debates that everyone will get a chance to answer let's start with Hillary or Obama and somehow even though everyone was going to get a chance Kucinich was either left out or given a token 15 seconds. From day one they pushed the Obama vs. Hillary scenario. How more divisive could they have made it for us a black man against a white woman. Anybody want to take a bet that the week before the GE one of the networks runs an OJ Simpson special. Every time I hear that someone isn't supporting Hillary simply because they are male I am repulsed. Explain to me how States like Arizona and Texas managed to elect female governors or how we here in California have 2 female Senators. Likewise the notion that Hillary supported the Bush rush to war is equally absurd.
Maybe if we had a Round file option and the posters of all the venom from all three sides (Hillary,Obama,Freeper spys) could see what I believe is a majority think of these posts they might go back to the drawing board.
I got news for you corporate playbook designers most of us are not falling into your trap and we will support our nominee. We are coming out in numbers like you have never seen to defeat your corporate war machine. Your efforts to divide us and stifle GE turnout is destined to fail. You told us in 2006 how impossible it would be for Democrats to take control of the Senate. Now we’re going to show you how we take back the White House and how we obtain a Senate majority that prevents you from obstructing the will of the people.

1. I hate to sound ignorant, but... |
|
What's a Round file option?
I'm for anything that can be reasonably easily implemented that can stem the flood.

5. Shitcan, trash can, that "round file" next to your desk. |
|
Sometimes, it's obliquely called "File Thirteen."
We can HIDE THREAD, but it still goes to the Greatest Page with sufficient votes....even if it is a piece of trash.

3. I have long been an advocate of "UN-Recommend" because some of the shit that makes it to the |

"Greatest" page is the "Greatest" pile of crap I've ever seen. Most posts are fine, but every so often some massive TURD gets five votes and there it is...! Making us all look like fools!
Of course, the only way that could work is if the voting were concluded BEFORE the post went to the greatest page. I imagine it would be impossible to have a post bouncing on and off the greatest page if it were recommended by five, and then un-recommended by a few.

4. Would the candidate posts for the round file |
|
be ones that we really can't alert on, but that we feel are not helpful?
How many "un-recommends" would be needed to put a piece in the discard pile? Or would it simply be flagged in some way so that others would know it was considered trash before opening it? Are you concerned that the feature may be abused by trolls to stop legit posts?

6. It doesn't have to have a binding effect |
|
Just a way of letting the OP know that the majority of members feel the post is trash without having to incur the wrath of the OP, fellow mud slingers, and trolls.

7. We have something similar. It's the hide a thread function. |
|
If more people used it for offensive and flamebait threads, most of them would silently fall into the archives in no time.
