What if Obama blamed his losses on the large female population? |
|
What kind of mighty uproar would be drummed up in DU? I could picture threads now. the s, e, x, i, s, and t keys would be worn to the nub on Hillary supporters computers.
How dare Hillary try to marginalize Obama's victory in Louisiana because he has support in the AA community?

13. Don't pick on Cali. If it wasn't for her, how would we have known Joe Biden is a racist? |

What could have made her peaceful with a mind That nobleness made simple as a fire, With beauty like a tightened bow, a kind That is not natural in an age like this, Being high and solitary and most stern? Why, what could she have done being what she is? Was there another shark for her to jump?

|
when 80 % of African Americans are voting for Obama can't we just say he has the African American vote? And if Hillary has a large number of women let's just say she has a large number of women supporting her.

12. That is how Clintons think. |
|
This illustrates how the Clintons look at the electorate. As Obama said in 04 they "slice and dice" us into constituencies. It is a cold form of objectifying that often works.

18. Hillary is a lot freer to complain and go negative if she wants to... |
|
Obama has to keep smiling. He can't ever complain, and he can't ever get angry. Not as long as his opponent is a white woman.
It just wouldn't be tolerated.
But good luck getting Gloria Steinem to acknowledge this.

It's a disgusting double standard indeed. If Obama blamed women like Hillary does blacks for her losses, we would have 10000 Hillary supporters here using the sexist card.

that the folks who run DU would probably have to add another server just to handle the traffic. And nearly every one of the posts would include the words "misogynist," "women-hater," "pig," and worse. The double standard is really quite striking.

28. If there is a State where females reside in numbers several times higher |
|
...than the national average, and Obama loses in it, it would be absolutely proper and logical for him to call attention to that fact. "Calling attention" and "blaming" are different cncepts. Some candidates do better in some regions than others, or with urban voters, or rural voters, or whatever. If the Obama camp makes note of the fact that Hillary Clinton has done well with Latinos, to her credit, which helped her win California, but that in upcoming contests the demographics are more favorable on the surface to his candidacy - there would be noting odd about that.
Is anyone here honestly unaware that Obama does very well with African American voters, and that in those States in which the voting percentage of Blacks is much higher than average, he tends to do very well? Obama has been winning the Black vote by a bigger percent than he has been losing the White vote in the South. That is simply a fact - both Obama and Clinton have cross racial appeal, but in a head to head that is how it has played out so far.
