So the campaign printed both on the signs.
I think Kerry said "help" and Edwards said "hope" -- interesting that this distinction has now occurred in two elections.
What do you think the two words elicit -- how would they impact people differently?

Hope implies self-reliance. It plays better in the purple states where they still cling to the myth of small government.

I think we are ready for some "help". She is right about that. Hope will only get you so far since it is an emotion. We need tangible help now. I am sure you could go back and accuse every candidate that has run of "stealing a slogan". That is because they all try to tell us what they think we want to hear. Let us not forget for a minute that they are politicians, not saviors.
