Can Obama win California & Massachusetts over McCain in the GE? |
|
Edited on Thu Feb-14-08 01:49 PM by sloppyjoe25s
hmmm... i think i MIGHT know the answer but here is a "poor mans poll" anyway...(I'm not a donor so I can't post a "fancy DU poll" - so simple answers will do)
==> Can Obama win California & Massachusetts over McCain in the GE?
(and let's throw in New York another BSTC - "Big State That Counts" just for fun...)
...and what does this say about who is the stronger Candidate if Obama can also carry red & purple states?
Please K&R

1. Absolutely, which is why Hill's argument about her wins is disingenuous, like her whole campaign. |

8. Indeed! Hillary can't win all the states Kerry did, muchless swing states. |
|
The fact that Hillary supporters cannot see this or will not admit it proves they simply put their loyalty to Hillary above logic, reason, and the party's chances for victory.

4. Of course he can (and will) win CA, NY and MA. |
|
I doubt think you can have an intellectually honesty doubt about that, especially in Mass and NY. California's not as blue as everyone makes it out to be, but I can't imagine it going for McCain either.

7. I'm glad some people see the point |
|
that her victories in California, Massachusets, and New York - are pretty meaningless in terms of the GE.
It's a shame that any state Obama wins "Doesn't Matter" - and that he's polling 16 points better than her agains McCain in NV and CO

I never said anything about you or your intelligence. I simply have a different opinion about how the people here feel.
In my opinion any Dem could beat any Rep in the Presidential GE this year.

13. But realistically - is he more likely to win CA, MA, NY |
|
Thank she is to win red and purple states in the General?
To me it's obvious - based on how much stronger he polls with Independents in states like NV, CO, NM, OH against McCain than she does.
It seems to prove he has a much better chance in the General.

I'm not saying he can carry TX in the general - that is a long shot.
but alot of these SW states where red - Obama has made them purple to blueish.

just becuz Hillary won those in a dem primary doesn't mean that such blue states will vote for McCain in a general election.
