Turn the clock forward to September 2008
Sept 08 - what's it going to be like at DU, what's it going to be like, period? Are we going to be be fawning over Chelsea's speech, the amount of Hillary signs, what Bill said, new bumper stickers, Hillary 08. (Don't get me wrong I actually like the Clintons). If Obama wins the nom., what dress is Michelle going to wear for the inauguration, what will he do about Iran, Pakistan? What we are going to do about McCain's past savings and loans scandals. The impeachment of Bush and Cheney?

Somehow I wish we were there now.....

1. I don't know.
We pulled ourselves together in 2004, and those were some very nasty wounds. Maybe not as bad as some still to come in this primary fight because it's taking longer (ironically, since the party front-loaded the schedule to get a nominee fast this time), but it was very bloody.

It's going to be up to the nominee, whichever one s/he is, to heal the wounds. If so, I think we'll unite behind the winner at least on here and it will be relatively cordial.

4. Our Nominee Will be Battling a Whole Fleet of Swift-Boaters
It worked so well for the Repiggies last time, we can be sure that the Swift Boaters will be back, and the Mighty Slime Machine will be playing their stuff any time they aren't busy singing the praises of the "Maverick" McCain.

DU will be full of pleas for money to buy ads to try to fight the Swift Boaters, but by September most of us will have maxed out. At up to a million dollars a minute, the money doesn't go very far.
We will likely break all records for fundraising (again). Will it be enough?
