12. I got one, too
Or actually, my deceased father did.

I thought I would write "Good Luck" or "Thanks for the picture!" on it and send it back to them.

That way, maybe they'll think I just forgot to enclose the money and they'll keep me on their list, wasting their money every time they send another mailing.

Hey, I think I'll send Kerry some money every time the Rethugs send my father a solicitation. :))

43. tear it all up into tiny pieces and mail it back is good
if you want to be a real :stinker: - throw in a slice of baloney that has been sitting around and molding for a few days

any "junk" mail that we receive and comes with a pre-paid-stamped-envelope gets mailed back to the sender in tiny pieces (no baloney, although once one of my dogs did "pee" on the floor, mail to be sent fell into it and we sent it anyways)

Actually, I used to do that
I worked at a newspaper when they still used hot type (now that's dating myself) and I'd get a thick piece of lead the size of the envelope and return it in the prepaid envelope.

And I always mail the prepaid subscription cards that cascade from magazines -- unfilled, of course.

45. enclose a note
that says:

"To whom it may concern:
I would love to donate to the GOP, however I have been laid-off for months due to my job being outsourced out of the country, unemployment benefits ran out and I have been unable to find a job. president Bush keeps saying that the economy is getting better - please tell me where it is getting better so I can move there to find a job.

I can no longer pay for my health insurance and had to cancel that in order to pay for basic necessities like food and heating fuel.

My prescription drugs cost more than I can afford - I'd buy them from Canada and that would save me some money which would allow me to donate - however you keep telling me that such drugs are unsafe.

I had previously renovated my basement to include a "terror-safe" room, it is filled with plastic sheeting and duct tape. I am considering charging a small fee to my neighbors for use of that room in the event of a terror alert - with the frequency of alerts and warnings this should provide me with a small income and I will be able to donate. What do you think is a reasonable "terror fee"?

19. A Brick (seriously)
My understanding is that the Campaign is obligated to pay postage on the mail, whatever the weight. So strap the envelope to a brick, and they should be forced to pay at least a small portion of their $150 mil.

38. I always said that I would send
monopoly money if I ever got one of those fundraising letters, although it looks like that's already been suggested.

A woman who was at my parents house for Thanksgiving got one and sent it back with a note saying that she thought Bush was the worst president in all of American history.

A read an account by someone on the Clark blog by a mother whose son had been sent to Iraq. She sent a picture of the son and said she'd already made her contribution.

I have also seen the suggestion of sending a check for a few cents. Apparently it costs more to process the check than the few cents that it's for so it actually costs the campaign money as well as being a nice insult.

That's a few ideas, I'm sure you'll hear alot more.

Let us know what you decide.:)
