GREAT NEWS! Obama WINNING over McCain in both IOWA AND VIRGINA...Hillary losing both
Great News, new polls shows Obama winning both Iowa AND (!) Virgina (!). He beats McCain 51 to 41 in Iowa and by 51 to 45 in Virgina(!) according to two new polls made by SUSA.

http://www.surveyusa.com/electionpolls.aspx?click

Unfortunately Clinton loses both states, Iowa by 52 to 41 and Virgina 48 to 45.

Really strong showing of OBAMA considering McCain loses to him in both states, but wins over Hillary in both of them. If Clinton wouldn't have called them unimportant states I think she would have a shot at them as well. Once again, the Clintons really needs to change their tactics!!!

DEMOCRAT FIRST! Lets Unite in order to beat the republicans in November!!!

1. Same thing in NM, NV, CO, WI, MN, OR

According to rasmussen polls. In all those states, Obama has a clear lead over McPain (at least 5 points), while Hillary trails in all.

3. STOP NOTING STATES THAT DON'T COUNT
In the general election, any state that held a caucus or once voted Republican or had a paper that endorsed Obama or is shaped like a square or isn't California won't count.

Howard Wolfson said so, and fifty Hillary internet creatures agreed!

10. Have ANY polls been predictive lately? Didn't think so.
Like this one:

Tuesday, February 3, 2004 Posted: 1:38 AM EST (0638 GMT)

CNN) -- Sen. John Kerry, the front-runner among Democrats vying for their party's presidential nomination, leads President Bush in a head-to-head matchup, according to a CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll released Monday.

Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina and retired Gen. Wesley Clark also emerge as formidable opponents, according to hypothetical matchups in the poll, which found a decline in Bush's approval numbers.

The poll, based on interviews with 1,001 adult Americans, including 562 likely voters, was conducted in the days after the New Hampshire primary.

The poll underscores both Kerry's momentum after his wins in New Hampshire and Iowa, and increased favorability among Democrats in general as they dominate political news with their primaries and steady criticism of Bush.

The general election is slightly more than nine months away and Bush has yet to launch his campaign in earnest, meaning the poll numbers are all but certain to shift.

When the 562 likely voters were asked for their choice from a Bush v. Kerry race, 53 percent of those picked Kerry, and 46 percent favored Bush.

37. In 2004
Kerry was leading Bush. It is now February and some polls, with a sample of 500 are saying Obama leads McCain. I guess the point that everyone missed was don't believe the polls, especially with small sample sizes.

22. It IS great news that Obama outpolls McCain; but it's not great that HRC loses to McCain.
That McCain, or any Republican, could outpoll a Dem in any state is abhorrent.

25. You are right about that
I also find that very troubuling, and I'm afraid that a lot of democratic voters will not vote on Hillary if the Clintons keep attacking Obama in the dirty way the are right now.....

By the Way! Obama also leads McCain in Pennsylvania!!!

29. I don't see what the purpose of a poll like this is....
It's only a snap shot, and the GE is months away and things can change. Just because Obama is ahead does not mean it will last, or that McCain won't eat him alive. These hypothetical match up polls are not even a valid snap shot in time IMO. Right now only reliable primary polls should matter.

So you don't se the purpose of noticing that Obama wins swing states like Virgina, Iowa, Colorado and Pennsylvania when Clinton is losing them???

35. But...
He hasn't technically won these swing states. Just because a poll says he is doesn't mean that it is true or that he will win it in a GE. Besides there are a lot of variables still out there in the campaign season. Don't be in a hurry to embrace these poll numbers.

36. Yes, yes, I know in Clinton-land all these things will magically reverse
Just to make clear what you're suggesting:

A campaign that started out with every advantage (money, recognition, party support) and has managed to blow through 140 million faster than a crack-smoking sailor on shore leave and fizzle away their entire national lead, will turn everything around and recover from huge deficits and high negatives.

Meanwhile, a campaign that came out of nowhere with virtually no institutional support at the beginning, out-fundraised their competition using pretty much only grassroots donors, has significant crossover appeal, and outpolls his opponent in states we had long thought beyond our reach, will apparently do the exact kind of implosion in the general election that his primary opponent is already doing.

Guess what? I don't buy it. I tend to think the recent past is a pretty good predictor of the future. You're asking me to simply take it on faith that she really can run a better campaign than she has, she just didn't bother to.
