IMHO, it's useless to speculate about Howard Stern's effect on the race without first locating his audience. To that end, does anyone have a complete and up-to-date list of radio outlets that carry Stern's show?
This link is the best I could find, but it lists only 35 stations that currently carry Stern. Is that all?
The six Clear Channel stations that dropped Stern were: Orlando, FL (WTKS-FM); Ft. Lauderdale/Miami, FL (WBGG-FM); Pittsburgh, PA (WXDX-FM); Louisville, KY (WTFX-FM); San Diego, CA (KIOZ-FM); and Rochester, NY (WNVE-FM).
Even so, Stern is still on the air in a number of swing states where he could make a difference:
Arizona (10 electoral votes; Bush won by 6% in 2000): Phoenix (KZON-FM)
Florida (27 electoral votes; Bush "won" by 500 votes in 2000): Ft. Myers (WRXK-FM)
Michigan (17 electoral votes; Gore won by 4% in 2000): Detroit (WKRK-FM), Grand Rapids (WBBL-AM)
Missouri (11 electoral votes; Bush won by 4% in 2000): St. Louis (KPNT-FM)
Nevada (5 electoral votes; Bush won by 3% in 2000): Las Vegas (KXTE-FM), Reno (KBZZ-AM)
Ohio (20 electoral votes; Bush won by 4% in 2000): Cleveland (WNCX-FM), Columbus (WBZX-FM), Cincinnati (WAQZ-FM)
Oregon (7 electoral votes; Gore won by less than 1% in 2000): Portland (KUFO-FM)
Pennsylvania (21 electoral votes; Gore won by 4% in 2000): Philadelphia (WYSP-FM), York (WQXA-FM)
Tennessee (11 electoral votes; Bush won by 3% in 2000) and part of
Arkansas (6 electoral votes; Bush won by 6% in 2000): Memphis (WMFS-FM)
Washington (11 electoral votes; Gore won by 5% in 2000): Seattle (KISW-FVM)
