I don't think McCain will be their candidate |
|
I believe he's the stand-in. He is clearly unelectable. My guess is that he will be replaced at their convention. I don't know what their rules and restrictions are, but I think back to when Cheney interviewed VP candidates for Shrub. He then selected himself with a minimal amount of time left for any investigation into his dealings prior to the election.
Be forewarned.

1. The plan was for Cheney to be VP all along... |
|
someone had to run the show and carry out PNAC plans besides President Chucklenuts.
His dealings were well known.

2. I agree. I said this the day the NYT printed their story about the lobbyist. |

Believe me, The Rethugs are not stupid by any means. I have in the back of mind a Hagel/...ticket. Maybe Hagel/Hunter. I've doing some reasearch on them both and it would be wise for both the Obama campaign and the Clinton campaign to do the same.

3. Hunter, as far as I know.... |
|
is still being investigated for his ties to that Brett Wilkes guy, the same scandal that took down Duke Cunningham.

11. Hmmm -- I think you may be on to something. |
|
I don't know enough about Hagel to figure out if he would be Cheney's #1 choice to carry on the Neocon legacy and agenda. Hagel is touted to be anti-Neocon, but most of the time he votes with them (but then, so do half the Dems).
Does your research lead you to believe the Hagel is far-right enough to be the "heir apparent"?

He's against Georgie's war. They only want a nominee who will keep us in Iraq for a million years and 2x Gitmo.

4. That's what Huckabee is counting on also |
|
There's an article on DR where Huckabee is aiming for a brokered convention, where the religious right can mount a coup and anoint him as their candidate.

If Hillary is the nominee, McCain will easily be elected.

Well, she is more liberal than McCain. Maybe we should be safe and nominate someone more conservative. Yeah, right.

6. The Conservatives are rallying to John McCain's side and |
|
circling the wagons. He raised 2 million dollars almost instantly once the NYT's story broke and the Times was made to look terrible in the Public Eyes.
Huckabee will never be the Candidate. The Business GOPers and the Traditional or Classical Republicans will never stand for this.
McCain will probably give Huckabee a WH position. Family Values Czar or something. I made up this title but it gives you the picture.

9. If McCain gets about 200 more delegates, the nomination is his. |

I doubt he'll step aside, barring some major scandal.
