Is Ketchum elitist?

I'm just baffled by the uproar over Kerry skiing in Idaho. So I want to know where the people are from who think this is outrageous. Because I just can't think of anybody who would think skiing at Ketchum is elitist. Sure, it's not the Montana Snowbowl, but still... elitist???

Kerry isn't going to come across as a regular guy, no matter what he does. So why bother? When he does - when he rides his motorcycle or holds a hunting rifle - he just looks ridiculous. This election can be won on Character - John Kerry is a leader, he has gravitas, and he has the credibility to win the War on Terror. Is he different than most guys in your local bar? Absolutely. But we've had one of those guys running the country for three years now, and I think American voters are looking for a change.

Ketchum is the heart of the popular, celeb filled vaction area. The house cost $4.8 million in 1988 and is a 15th century barn that the Kerrys imported from England. Sorry, but that is pretty elite by any reasonable measure.
