Shelton Whitehouse would be good choice for AG |
|
in an Obama administration. After watching him on the Judiciary committee, I see a real bulldog that doesn't appreciate being bullshitted. I think he'd like to have a free hand w/ some of the Bush enablers...maybe even Bush himself....if he doesn't pardon himself and all the rest on the way out the door.
I had thought Patrick Fitzgerald would be the obvious choice, but in order to make a clean break and send a few criminals to jail, Whitehouse seems the likely candidate.
Hey, now that Chaffee has seen the error of his ways, he could come back as an Indy or Dem.
Just musing...

Without knowing the specifics of RI law, I would tentatively say bad idea.

7. If Whitehouse got the AG nod the GOP governor would choose his successor. |
|
I suspect the Senate will be firmly in our control after November, but it couldn't be said with any certainty right now.

5. He 's the only one on the Senate Judiciary Committee who asks decent questions - |
|
and follows up.
He is very much needed in the Senate - as is Jim Webb.
