I truly think he can.
Forget the countless repubs that have told me so...
When my hubby's best friend (who is a person who runs local gun shows) told me that he's going for Barack...I'm now sold.
Barack Obama can take Idaho.

2. You've never been to Idaho have you? |
|
I have. Admittedly briefly. But to this day I was remember how stunned I was at the level of racism I saw. I could be wrong of course, but I just don't see your scenario happening.

6. I agree. Obama can win Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana. |
|
Probably not Utah and Wyoming, but will win California, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado.
Probably lose Arizona.

7. Err... AZ is pretty much a given if McCain is the nominee |
|
But I do think he can take most of the rest of the high west.

8. And that's why I said Obama won't win Arizona. |
|
But Arizona does have a Dem governor, and senators have lost their home state (Gore '00), so it's not out of the question that a groundswell or scandal could take McCain down. Or, he might not be the nominee, should illness, infirmity or scandal take him out of the nomination.
Assuming it is McCain, he should win Arizona, of course.

9. After 37 years of living here, I truly believe he can, just not sure he will |
|
He packed 14,000 into the arena here with an overflow crowd of a thousand or more. Al Gore got "only" 10,000 one year ago here.
The caucus on Super Tuesday was also jammed, again with an overflow crowd of 2,000 for a total of 8,400. It's being called the largest single caucus ever in the US (I don't know if that's true or not). The atmosphere was more like a Final Four game than an election.
Romney would definitely have drawn out more of the Mormon vote here, but the diehard repubs would probably vote for a mannequin if it had an 'R' on it. Oh, wait a minute, they already did seven years ago.
It will be much closer this November than before, but it will still be interesting to see how much Obama can swing the balance. All I have heard is negativity about McPain from conservatives here, and positives about Barack.
But this is Idaho, after all.:banghead:
