Farrakhan Praises Obama as ‘Hope of Entire World’
CHICAGO — In his first major public address since a cancer crisis, Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan said that presidential candidate Barack Obama is the “hope of the entire world” that the U.S. will change for the better. The 74-year-old Farrakhan, former leader of the black Muslim group, never endorsed Obama outright, but spent much of his nearly two-hour speech Sunday to an estimated crowd of 20,000 people praising the Illinois senator.

“This young man is the hope of the entire world that America will change and be made better,” he said. “This young man is capturing audiences of black and brown and red and yellow. If you look at Barack Obama’s audiences and look at the effect of his words, those people are being transformed.”

Farrakhan compared Obama to the religion’s founder, Fard Muhammad, who also had a white mother and black father. “A black man with a white mother became a savior to us,” he told the crowd of mostly followers. “A black man with a white mother could turn out to be one who can lift America from her fall.”

Farrakhan also leveled small jabs at Hillary Rodham Clinton, Obama’s rival for the Democratic nomination, suggesting that she represents the politics of the past and has been engaging in dirty politics.

1. The implication is that the racist farrakhan represents Obama's view is typical faux crap
Also, Clinton staffers circulating Obama pictures fitted as a Somali Elder, when he visited Wajir in 2006, is also obvious that they want to paint him as a Muslim

What is the message? It is definitely anti-Muslim.

3. Well -- did Louis Farrakhan praise Barack Obama or not?
If he did, then you can't expect the news media not to mention his speech.

Did you complain when the media reported that Scarlet Johannsen is supporting Obama?

Well, like it or not, Louis Farrakhan also counts as a "celebrity endorsement".

What are Obama's views on it?

I am also complaining about members of Clinton's staff trying to alude to Obama as a Muslim, by throwing this picture of him in native garb when he visited the country

Maybe when Nixon, Clinton, bush, or others visited China, or other locals, and they put on traditional dress, they were also red Chinese

this is crap, however, and I assume you are a Clinton supporter, if you think this will win her the nomination go for it

As for me I will gladly vote for WHOEVER the Democratic nominee is

10. Read the whole article
Said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton: “Sen. Obama has been clear in his objections to Minister Farrakhan’s past pronouncements and has not solicited the minister’s support.”

If you want Obama's personal views, rather than those of his campaign spokesman, I suggest you contact Obama directly.

You might consider reading the words without imposing an agenda on them that doesn't exist.

Farrakhan made his remarks. Obama's spokesman replied. That's good enough for me.

13. Do you have ANY IDEA what kind of bozos endorsed FDR at the time?
There were Democrats, especially in the South, in FDR's day who were vaguely or even not so vaguely pro-fascist. The notion of holding a candidate responsible for everyone who endorses them leads to absurdities like guilt by that kind of association with extremists who absolutely and even violently hate each other.

GET REAL!

11. The award from the daughter of Obama's pastor --- named for Obama's pastor?
Edited on Mon Feb-25-08 09:17 AM by Yossariant
In 2007, Trumpet Magazine (published and edited by Wright's daughter) presented the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award to Farrakhan, whom it said "truly epitomized greatness." Wright is quoted in the magazine offering praise of Farrakhan "as one of the 20th and. 21st century giants of the African American religious experience" and also praised Farrakhan's "integrity and honesty." In response, Obama noted his disagreement with the decision to give the award to Farrakhan;
