I've changed my Obama avatar
I still support him over Hillary, but do not want to be lumped in with the fanatical group who is coming in here and gloating or holding flame fests or carp attacks or whatever. So for now I'm going with something neutral. Not trying to hide my preference. Just to let y'all know.

I have no problem with you supporting Obama.

But some of this anti-Hillary crap has become so over the top.

9. Some of the anit-Hillary crap is just disgusting
It is just unfortunate that no Clinton supporters were able to step forward to say the same thing when Obama was accused of being in the mob http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x4736362

22. So where do you stand on those Clinton supporters who trash everything Obama?
You know, Tellurian and her ilk. I'm not suggesting Obama supporters get a free pass, however, this isn't all on them. Clinton supporters have been just as ruthless and condescending as many Obama supporters, but that's ok, I guess.

All the evil on this board is spewed from the Obama side, or so many on here would suggest this be the case.

7. I think my breast cancer awareness ribbon
beats all of this political shit anyway!! It is a life and death matter to me. Fighting over Obama and Clinton is ridiculous. If one of us had a breast cancer diagnosis, this political infighting would fall to the wayside. Politics is important, but there are many more important things going on too. Just my opinion.

I wish we could put some of this election energy into forcing our politicians to apply more funding to a cure for this and other diseases. I never hear any of them mention what they plan on doing to help Americans who are suffering from Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, cancer, etc. etc.....Blessings and comfort to you qanda for the loss of your friend.

only two stages left, Stage 3C and 4 which means it's spread..and that's not good.

I agree we need someone in the WH that's for science and for finding cures and fighting diseases.

Stage IIIB Ovarian Cancer, and it hasn't made me any less passionate about politics. I'm not saying nasty, just passionate.

oh btw, Love your ribbon, I still volunteer for Breast Cancer Awareness and I am trying to work on one for Ovarian Cancer because it doesn't get much attention and kills a lot of women that aren't even aware they have it until it's to late, which is why they call it the disease that whispers, or some call it the "Silent Killer!"

television to accuse Obama of Rovian tactics?

Hillary Clinton woos man who nearly ruined her husband

Earlier this month, Ms Clinton's staff leaked campaign fundraising data to the website just as her rival for the nomination, Barack Obama, was to deliver a policy speech on Iraq - and a crucial 20 minutes before the official release of the information. The story on Ms Clinton's fundraising prowess dominated the news cycle.

Mark Penn is in bed with Drudge.

Obama's campaign would not connect Hillary to the latest attack story without validation.

It has happened before and Axelrod denounced the attempts to link Hillary's campaign to an attack:

The article further reported that Obama strategist David Axelrod said he did not "believe ... for a second" the allegation that Clinton's camp was behind the story.

This latest incident is different in that it comes on the heels of Hillary's campaign and her surrogates promoting Obama's ties to "former members of a radical domestic terrorist group."

18. I don't blame you.
For the longest time, I believed they were Freepers, so I tried not to let them turn me into a Hillary hater. After this weekend, I no longer believe they are Freepers. I still don't hate Hillary Clinton but I've lost all respect for her after she demeaned those of us who support Obama. We chose him over her, so she thinks we're a bunch of morons or assholes. Thanks alot, Senator Clinton. That's the way to win votes and influence people. :sarcasm:

It's a sad way to run a Democratic campaign.

32. I don't know if you had to go that far, but the sentiment's nice
I'm seriously concerned about the tenor of the enthusiasm and wrath of the extremists, and I hope cooler heads like yours prevail should he be the standard-bearer.

Life is nuanced, and it should be seen as such; the problem is that most people hate that even if they are able to truly accept the concept. Movements of "change" run the risk of effectively telling everyone else that they're primitive assholes and that everything that's existed so far hasn't just not made them proud, but is crap.

People don't like hearing that they have been part of the problem. People are wary of extreme emotion propelling candidates to godlike status. There's an Icarus factor that I dread, and hopefully, if he's the nominee, he and his people will attempt to appeal on more of a rational and specific plane, instead of an ecstatic and vague one.

I take heart in knowing that there are a lot of Obama supporters out there like you who are also cringing at much of what's being said and done, and hopefully you will ground this in a bit of calmness.

Nice post.
