Republicans getting a free pass while democratic party implodes |
|
Up until recently Obama has been making great strides in mounting his campaign against John McCain, he has been addressing him and his policies in the media as well as his speech's. That has now taken a back seat due to Hillary's blatant and direct attacks. His campaign has had to work overtime in order to fend them off, taking all focus off of McCain and the GE, in case anyone hasn't noticed, McCain is our common enemy.
The democratic party is suffering as a result of Hillary's inability to see the big picture.

6. The big picture is Winning the GE |
|
Hillary is by far the weakest candidate on GE measures plus she needs a near miracle to win the nom. She should fight on but only if she can do so in a way as to not harm the Democratic GE campaign.
Selfishness is Republican brand

|
for the most part the silly season is not really bothering me. but a few posters make me sad, and you are one of them. all i can say is, you will not be disappointed. i know who this guy is, how he came up in politics, and i can tell you that we could not find a better candidate. he isn't an empty suit. he is a man of extraordinary integrity and intelligence. he will make a great president. go ahead and hope, boss. what other choice do you have?

18. I didn't say nor do I think he is an empty suit |
|
I said he is campaigning as an empty suit. I think that is true. I hope about a lot of things. As long as we have a democrat in the white house, my hopes will take care of themselves. Neither candidate has inspired me. I'm leaning toward writing in General Clark during my state's primary in March. But I will enthusiastically support the Dem nominee.
Obama has not given me reason to be distracted or post things that make you sad, but his supporters on GDP for the most part are arrogant pains in the ass. For no apparent reason.

he has one of the great campaign staffs in dem-dom. whatever it may look like on the teevee, they are a sight to behold on the ground. look at the turnouts. supporters at du? well it is silly season. i agree, some are nuts. i know i have had some cranky moments, and some moments of feeling backed into a corner. i think many have been exemplary, tho, refuting attacks without getting too personal. i have taken some of it personally. i sure wish more dems appreciated us here in chicago. well, lets hope the kumbaya moment is not far off. i am ready.

A civil chitchat with an Obama supporter. Very pleasant. Thanks. And I appreciate everyone from everywhere who will vote for our candidate in November.
I must say I find Chicago just a tad bland compared to New Orleans but I'm not talking politics.

3. Do you really think it would be this divisive |
|
if Hillary just campaigned on the issues instead of making all the attacks? Every time Obama takes the high road, she jabs, every single time. This is not the act of a true leader, it's the act of a bully in a school yard. We already have someone like that in office and last I looked he has the lowest approval rating of any president in history.

fliers against Hillary? He is campaigning in the same manner. When she protests she is called derogatory names. And if you thought the repugs wouldn't bring out the non existent muslim tie you're crazy. What does she have to gain from that within the democratic party? It would not gain her more support, and cause a loss of it if caught. Why would she even risk it. That type of attack will only be effective when he runs against McCain. Why don't you go look that direction? They're betting Obama is going to win and they have started to attack him. Running down a much loved and respected woman such as Hillary without anything that proves the accusation is going to drive her supporters from Obama if he wins. Trust me he needs every democrat to win the general election if he makes it there. I think Obama is well aware of the trouble for Hillary by just accusing her of it. It won't matter that she didn't do it after he accuses her of it. He is gaining a lot more from this than she is. As usual. I wonder how much he plants himself.

8. Flyers on policy are one thing, trying to tag him as a 'radical' last week |
|
and now this this week, that's on an entirely different level - it's an attempt to demonize him.
and she's sending out flyers attacking him, I haven't heard him make a big deal out of those.

11. His connections that could become an issue in the general election are fair. Just as they have |
|
dissected hers. He best get it all out now. I do not want new ties of his coming out in the general election. He should just be upfront. I don't believe he is.

I think you're being a little over dramatic. I see more people at rallies for 2 Democratic Presidential candidates than I've ever seen before, I see people lining up to vote for their candidate in the rain during primaries.
Sometimes the campaigns get a little nasty but the enthusiasm is there and I think it will translate into an exciting fall when we take the White House back from the repukes that have been squatting there since 2001.
Plus, I don't think it's going to matter if it's Clinton or Obama that makes it to the nomination they will be supported by the Democratic base and their primary opponents. I'll put money on that too, there is no way that either of them will pull a Lieberman this year.

The way Democrats destroy each other's campaigns, a victory in November for the Republicans is very probable. And if Nader starts another campaign, victory for the GOP is assured.

This divisiveness is really bad for the party. I am not calling for Clinton to drop out, but I am calling on her (and Obama) to think about whether any attacks will hurt the other's chances in November.

I can't see the party suffering much. Outside of these blogs, her silly smears aren't getting much play, and the Obama campaign is largely ignoring them, as everyone should. Personally, I am so embarrassed for her. It is deeply sad to see a woman of so much ability destroying herself by following the advice of people who clearly do not have her best interests at heart.

All of the Sunday shows were talking about Hillary and Obama. McCain is an after-thought. Even with the hint of a sex scandal in the air, the mainstream media would rather focus on the Dems. I am loving it! It won't matter who wins the Dem nomination, ALL of the excitement is for the blue party.
