Obama really has a tight ground game!
"Obama, as he began his speech, said he had "some business to take care of."

"Each and every one of you can go down to the Hamilton County Board of Elections - that's 824 Broadway - and vote right now,'' Obama said.

The campaign had buses parked outside Fifth-Third Arena to take people to the board of elections to take advantage of Ohio's early voting system. (The Board is open until 8 p.m. each night this week.)"

4. His "Georgia Machine" was very impressive
I hope we can get the same people after he wins the nom, but I found out that the Demo party will have to take the lead from Obama for America. I was upset to hear that the same grassrooters will not be in charge next time. I do hope that they find their way into some leadership roles.

I cant wait till November, I predict he will win Georgia, that's right a black man winning Georgia. I cant wait to get to work on the general election stuff.

6. Wow.
There was another post where people were sent down the street from a volunteer appearance to a chruch to get tickets for a speech - and across the street from the church? The Board of Elections! I forget whether that was in Ohio or Texas.

8. They are excellent. Before the CA primary....
I said that I had never seen such a well-oiled machine before. And I have continued to phonebank since Super Tuesday, during which time I think they have grown MORE adroit at working the ground than they were here. They learn from experience and keep getting better.

42. what I heard today on religious-right radio--
Obama's either a secret Muslim or another Hitler or the Anti-Christ. Seriously! And there is also an unspoken racist tone to their comments. They are really afraid of him. Of course they are also afraid of their own shadows--that's the kind of people they are. And if Obama denies any of it, that just convinces them all the more that it is true!
(I feel like I need to go and clean out my ears. I'm so glad we don't need their votes to win.)

18. This is why Clinton's getting her doors blown off.
It's one thing to remain cool and collected and be a black belt in verbal judo in debates.

It's one thing to have more money, or do more ads, or have more press releases to serve as ripostes to attacks from Clinton.

But Obama is the master of the ground game. He's got his campaign organization in overdrive, going to all the towns, getting out the vote, and building that momentum.

Clinton didn't think it would last past Super Tuesday, and thought this would be a coronation. Now she doesn't have her shit together. No organization on the ground, no rallies, few volunteers. All she has left is desperate Hail Mary tactics that seem to be backfiring.

28. I witnessed it first-hand over the weekend!
My husband, kids, and I spent the weekend in Ohio (Toledo and Cleveland) and were very impressed with his ground game. He's got his shit together! My husband, son (he's 13) and I made cold calls from his Toledo office on Friday night, while my daughter (she's 15) made signs for Sunday night's rally. Saturday morning/afternoon we canvassed in Toledo before driving to Cleveland for the rally. Everything was so organized, and the volume of volunteers and the level of enthusiasm was contagious! :bounce:

They are training people. It's not just kids off the street being sent to do menial tasks without being educated on how to do the tasks at hand.
