Stephanie Miller ~ anybody else listen today? |
|
Edited on Fri Feb-29-08 02:22 PM by pirhana
What a ------! (that's for you Obama supporters)
Fine if she is an Obama supporter but she didn't have to be so dam rude to callers that support Hillary.
She was talking over them, not letting them finish sentences and cutting them off.
Is she always like this? To be honest, I haven't listened to her in a while.... and probably won't be tuning back in anytime soon.

That group either really loves Obama or their getting paid a whole lot of money by someone to pretend that they love Obama.
Either way, I'm not listening to her show til after they all settle down a bit. I'll check out her show again in another couple of months or so.

cite the source for the smear she was trying to get in before they had to cut her off? The woman got the information from watching Hannity's show...since when do we embrace information from Fox News of all places?
Sam Seder and Stephanie have repeatedly said that they will not allow their shows to be used to promote rightwing talking points...why do the right's work for them? And I completely agree with them, no matter who our candidate is. The Clinton supporters who call these shows just sound hysterical, and unhinged. That's why they get the chop.

Telling Steph they can't continue to listen to her because she's too biased. Thom Hartmann has even mentioned that these attacks on progressive media almost seem orchestrated and coordinated by the Clinton campaign. Why don't they just change the channel? Why do they feel they have to make this big dramatic exit? I just wish that there had been 1/10 of this newly found outrage before Biden, Dodd, Kucinich, and John Edwards had to bow out because the media refused to cover them. Karma's a b*tch, ain't it?
"Waah..Waah...you like Obama more than Hillary, I hate you, and I'll never listen to your show ever again... Waah...Waah" I think the Hillarites should be careful who they alienate, because someone's gonna have to defend her if she somehow manages to snag the nod.

Matter of fact her rule # 1 is to be nice to all people unless "they" cross the line and try to control her show and air time.
My Favorite meme that is being pushed is Obama's link to the Weather Underground (a radical off shoot of the S.D.S. in the late 1960s). Obama would have been 8 freaking years old then and was living in Indonesia at the time. I doubt he was bombing ROTC bldgs on campuses @ the time.

She's said over and over and over and over and over that she'll be proud to support Hillary if she gets the nomination, and she's been subjected to a lot of garbage from a few Hillary supporters whose elevators don't go to the top.
I'm in no way suggesting they represent the majority of Hillary supporters, but this type is there and is loud and insulting. Stephanie has put up with plenty from them, and I don't care how she reacts to them.
Editted to add that if you think calling her a sexist insult is going to win you any points, think again.

As someone who didn't start out in the Obama camp (me) and listening to radio show hosts take calls, many Clinton callers com across angrily and with a lot of venom. Stephanie's format using humor seems inappropriate for all the anger that comes across lines. I would be in her camp (as far as being a listener) whether she supported my pick for a politician or not.

Many think this state of progression may correlate to a high fever, and that once that fever breaks, the mind begins to heal itself, and the subject regains some measure of reasoning, objectivity and decorum, in short, healing may take place. It is too early to say at this point.

She says she will vote for the Democratic nominee, regardless, and I believe her. However, I didn't think I could bear to hear the adoring way she says, "Obama," one more time. She's never very good with on-line callers, IMHO, since she tends to be snippy and cuts them off rather quickly, but her obvious preference for Obama has made that habit much worse. The difference between Obama and Clinton is certainly not great enough to fairly cause Steph's level of adoration of Obama and disdain for Clinton.
I'll probably start listening again when the nominee is chosen.

I listen to Stephanie almost every morning and she was merely stating that this is not the time to start challenging the set up of the primaries in each state. I support Hillary and even I am getting tired of the "lets change the rules in the middle of the game crowd". Stephanie has repeatedly said that Hillary would make a fine candidate and a fine president, what more do you want. Stephanie and the mooks have been more then patient with some of the callers. The person who called and said that Obama was part of the "weatherman Underground" just blew my mind. I find it amusing that we are getting upset because democratic radio hosts have made their political choices clear. Try and get your point of view across on Limbaugh, Hannity or O'Reilly shows. Both this forum and Stephanies show allow dissent and isn't that the whole point of the democratic process.

And punchlines from Little Britan and such? She could back me for President and I could not stand her! Schultz, well, I have an Obama backing friend who loves him now, I sent him an email he sent me last year about Ed being a 'GOP plant shilling for Clinton'. Funny stuff! The only allegedly liberal talker I can stand is Thom Hartmann and lately even his show has been overly self promotional and he's been underprepared and prone to stammering around a point and frankly, I get annoyed. He has commercials for his commercials, and it does not stop. Book a cruise, curise a book, ask him about anything, and he has written 6 books about it and recommends two as essitial. Boring freaking radio way too much of the time, that is AAR at its best. At its worst it is simply a poor reflection of what the right does, invective laden bullying. Give me Amy Goodman and let me go!

First off, she's taken an ungodly amount of fire about supporting Obama during the last few months and has managed to remain remarkably civil despite the daily ribbing. Secondly, I also heard the tail end of the mess regarding the weather underground bit, and the Woman's source was World Net Daily, when are we gonna learn that just because "I read it on the web" doesn't make it true. It ain't like the Baby Jesus personally writes everything that one reads out here.

|
Edited on Fri Feb-29-08 04:43 PM by LisaM
and that it's her job to entertain, blah, blah, blah. But here's the thing: she is a progressive and her audience is progressive. I don't think it's her job to divide HER OWN AUDIENCE. Even when I was an Edwards supporter, Stephanie made me feel sympathy for Hillary by constantly harping on her voice, her mannerisms, Bill, etc. But she went completely overboard with the Oprah garden party event. From then on she (Stephanie) has not looked back, and she's left a few Edwards supporters in her wake, and a LOT of Hillary supporters. I used to enjoy her show and it got me in a good mood for work, but I cannot listen to it anymore. Doesn't she want to hang on to her audience? We're supposed to unite together against conservatives, not be pitted against each other. She puts every Hillary caller on the defensive, every single one.
And as far as the Texas caucuses go, I think it's going to be a disaster. Their weird rules might have worked with low turnout, but let me tell you, it's going to be completely chaotic on Tuesday and a bunch of people will be pissed and a bunch more disenfranchised. This has been happening the whole campaign with caucuses. Caucuses are an unfair and ridiculous system and they mean a lot of people can't participate (I know - we had them in Washington). Did it ever occur to Steph and crew to examine the notion that the Texas system is terribly flawed?

You are right in stating that the Texas system is flawed, however it is flawed for both candidates. Hillary has had a tough time with the caucus states and am I am sure that this is why she freaking out about Texas. She had the same problem with the voting in casinos in Nevada but she still won that primary.

72. Well, hear me out. I think that the caucus system is not prepared for the numbers |

Understand, I don't like the process to begin with (going back to my first caucus in 1992). I also don't like open caucuses and primaries. Be that as it may, with the much lower turnout in previous elections, the systems, while not good, IMHO, were manageable.
It's a different story now. In Nevada, they attempted to hold the second round of caucuses in Clark County, and they were not able to! They've been postponed. The numbers were too large, and the planners couldn't accomodate it.
Our caucus in Washington started out with 1000 people in one room. It was like playing a game of Pit. Not everyone, e.g., was even signed in by the time it was supposed to start (no one was turned away for that, and I don't think they should have been). I never found out the total count in our precinct after the revisions, the chair was completely unprepared, and no one could explain how the delegates were allocated. Not everyone who wished to speak was given a chance. It was chaos.
I have a feeling Texas is going to be ugly. I think it's obvious that the campaigns need to focus on the problems one state at a time. Turnout is disrupting this process, which clearly was not designed to handle this many voters. It's great to see people turn out, but I don't think the caucus system is serving everyone well.
I also have a question about Texas. How do early voters caucus, and what if they arrive at the polling place and the caucus has been moved?

Love her humor and Jim Ward is THE BEST VOICE IMPERSONATOR in the WORLD!!!!
I also love Thom Hartmann, Sam Sedar, and Rachel Maddow. Not impressed with Bill Press. Sure miss The Young Turks but guess Cenk was too anti-Hillary for Mark Green.
