Obama Daily Volunteer Thread: Sunday, March 2.
I'd love to hear more about what my fellow Obama supporters here on DU have been up to (or plan to do) volunteer wise, be it:

-Voter registration
-Canvassing
-Phonebanking
-Donating
-Spreading the word to family and friends
-And everything else

How did everyone's day go?

GOBAMA! :applause:

(I'll post my experiences below too! :))

1. So I'll start.
With the campaign in PA really kicking off this weekend, the name of the game here is organizing, organizing, organizing.

I met with one of my local groups today at the campaign spaces that is just 4 blocks from my house (have I mentioned how excited I am about that! lol). It was an extremely well-run meeting especially considering the group just formed yesterday. Let me tell you, these people are focused, fired up and ready to go! They already have two big voter registration events on the schedule for this week!

Next it was time for my student group meeting on campus. Kal Penn (Kumar) was kind enough to stop by and fire up the troops, take questions, etc. On the agenda for this week is registration...followed by more registration! We'll be hitting the dorms hard and working on some new techniques that I think will be really successful.

While trekking from one meeting to another, I ran into an Obama supporter that I registered yesterday. It was great to see her and really made me feel a connection to my community!

Tomorrow will be dedicated to more meetings as well as organizing a return-watching party on Tuesday and setting up yet another meeting! lol. If this thread is well received, I'll start another tomorrow and give y'all another update.

3. Well, here's the dealio from Ohio!
Spent all weekend canvassing my ass off in the historic Ohio "One Million For Change" campaign.

I'm totally exhausted, encouraged, thrilled, tense, enthusiastic, fired up, and ready for bed! :-)

Back at it Monday for a visibility and all day Tuesday, sunrise until the polls close!

That is a kick-ass chalk drawing! Thank you for posting it!

Yes We Can, Ohio!
Yes We Can, Texas!

I love being Junior Tuesday Partners with Texas. It's too much fun!!!

4. This 1,000,000 doors thing is blowing my mind.
I can't believe y'all are going to do it!

What kind of reception are you getting? You can go ahead and code that for me, I'm familiar ;) Here's hoping you'll say "2"!

5. It's historic. It's damned impressive.
We have our own coding system in the precincts I covered, but let's just say the response is incredible. We've really pushed early voting in Ohio, and I'd say 20% of the houses I hit had already voted for Obama.

It's so freaking exciting!!! :-)

9. I got the flu, dammit!!!
So I got knocked out of the game for the past week. I have been whining to others and telling them to think about me, wishing I were out there, and do a few more calls or a few more doors for me, even when they really feel like quitting for the day.
