I'm still confused about Clinton bringing up McCain |
|
If "experience" is what voters care about, neither Clinton nor Obama will beat McCain.
It's not just that she brought up an attack that McCain could use against Obama, she brought up an attack that McCain could use against her.
I just don't get it.

She can't win so she will burn us all to get a shot in four years.

12. If experience is all that matters |
|
whether it's experience as a military commander (Navy Squadron Leader for 4 years), war time experience (prisoner of war for 5 years), war hero (when the North Vietnamese found out that he was a son of a high ranking Navy admiral, he was offered an early out... less than a year after he was captured... he refused), Capital Hill experience, from both the House (2 term) and the Senate (4 terms so far)...
so yeah, he has more "experience" than Hillary and Obama combined.
Not to mention that he mounted a serious campaign for the Presidency in 2000.
Of course, he is still a douche-bag.
Experience isn't all it's cracked up to be. I've had as many as 30 people working for me, I've held line managerial positions at NASA with a budget of $10M a year... and I've been a CTO at a startup. I've never hired someone JUST on experience. I'd much rather hire someone with a lot of talent. But maybe that's just me.

13. that's the funny part of all of this |
|
one could say about experience that some people have 20 years experience and others have 1 year of experience repeated 20 times. If people don't know how to quickly learn and take on new things........probably not a good idea to give them much responsibility. Look how Bush fucked up literally anything he touched.
We need a sea change. Old McCant and Shrillary just don't represent that.

5. Hillary accomplished something in her 8 years in the White House? |
|
Edited on Tue Mar-04-08 05:10 AM by dmesg
Contrary to the insistence of her campaign, most of America doesn't think of being FLOTUS, having no security clearance, and being taken off all policy initiatives after your health care plan does an imitation of the Hindenburg is "experience".

Among her first as First Lady include the first to hold a post graduate degree, have a professional career, and have an office in the West Wing of the White House.
Hillary Clinton was a force behind the State in Children's Health Insurance Program in 1997 along with Ted Kennedy, endorsed nationwide immunization and mammograms for older women covered by Medicare, aided in increasing research funding for childhood asthma and prostate cancer at the National Institutes of Health. Along with these accomplishments she worked along Attorney General Janet Reno to establish the Office on Violence Against Women, was the pioneer behind the Adoption and Safe Families Act in 1997, along with hosting several White House Conferences centered on Early Childhood Development and Learning in 1997, Children and Adolescents in 2000, Child Care in 1997, and the first Conferences ever held on Philanthropy in 1999 and Teenagers in 2000.
Among these wonderful accomplishments for the citizens of the United States, she broke the record of First Lady Pat Nixon by traveling to more than 80 countries.
Hillary Clinton is very outspoken when it comes to family, the well being of children, overall health benefits for the American people, and the abuse of women and children worldwide.

I realize picking the low-lying fruit is one way to go, but did you even read the information regarding Rush Limbaugh calling the GOP to arms to vote for Hillary in Texas and Ohio for the sheer purpose of continuing the race to let her bloody up Barack for them? edited for link, again: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x4866144

20. Don't let anybody tell you you don't understand party strategy. |
|
Because you don't. The rumbling you are oblivious to is the party appalled at what Hillary Clinton is doing. It's almost is if if she can't win the nod, and the math says that isn't likely, she intends to bloody up Barack and, as it turns out, she GOP is applauding her doing their dirty work.
If you don't understand the logistics of that Democratic Party nightmare scenario, that's your problem. But I'm tired of trying to explain the obvious to you, if you don't mind.

It's the kind of statement a candidate might make... if they were looking to be John McCain's Vice President.

but who will win the experience argument between Senator McCain and Senator Clinton? I'm not trying to snark. The question is, how does this work in our favor in the long-term, regardless of who is the eventual nominee? I haven't been one to believe in the 'scorched earth' garbage, but this does seem short-sighted.

27. I respect Hillary's experience, but if experience is the ruler, |
|
I'm afraid she will measure short. She's been through hell and back and she's demonstrated skill and tough-as-nails determination, but McCain is already making statements re her phone ad. I know that she's trying to expose Barack's shortcomings, but I fear it will bite us in the ass in the end. I'm not emotionally invested in either candidate. I am emotionally invested in the outcome in November, and this causes me concern.

McCain wins the "experience" test, hands down, against both of them.
What bothers me is that she doesn't seem to know that.

where everything he said came to be 100% true, and the vote that Clinton & McCain got 100% wrong?
That is the experience she's touting, and the speech she's shitting on?
Give me a break. Why does she keep bringing up her greatest failure over and over again?
It's like she wants everybody to ask what the fuck is she doing, when she knows it's her biggest weakness.
