Edwards on Lou Dobbs today |
|
Edited on Wed Mar-31-04 07:05 PM by Darkamber
Actually, he was already on. The issues were focused on jobs and the economy and the gas situation. Edwards did very well on the issues that he is well known for.
Interesting thing was when King said to Edwards that, " The Kerry campaign suggested they call Edwards to come on and speak about this."
I think I have hope for Kerry now. He's using his resources where they are best used. Bring out Edwards for jobs, economy, jobs questions about Kerry. Edwards did point out that Kerry will be lowering taxes and not raising them on the vast majority Americans.
However, bring out Clark when the questions are related to National Security, War, National Security.
Use your best best people where they are effective the most. Maybe, just maybe we will be able to pull this off in Nov. and get rid of Bush.

4. I thnk Kerry is "auditioning" potential VPs |
|
by having his staff view TV appearances - so far Dean and Edwards have made the shows. Has anyone seen Clark?

8. "Has anyone seen Clark?"??? |
|
You're kidding, right? Clark was the one who gave the Democratic rebuttal to the President's speech on the anniversary of the Iraqi invasion. Did the same after a couple of Cheney's speeches before that. And was on CNN (3 times), MSNBC, FOX, and NPR right after the Clarke story broke. And Clark missed an Ohio visit (for Kerry) because the Kerry people had to have him in NYC the next day for a major press conference they had set up and wouldn't take the chance that weather might make him miss it. And he's subbed in for Kerry at a number of state party functions.
Gosh, even at the Unity dinner carried on C-SPAN, Kerry specifically thanked Clark for being an "outstanding surrogate" while he (Kerry) was on vacation.
I dunno if it has anything to do with "auditioning." Kerry seems to have used Clark (and I don't mean that in a bad way) to counter the Repubs on foreign policy issues, and maybe now will use Edwards on some of domestic ones. Makes sense, and might have nothing at all to do with VP or anything else.
Well, except for the state party fund-raiser dinners. I went to one of those, and Clark's comments were not in any way limited to foreign policy. It's kind of funny--our governor was initially pissed off that Kerry wouldn't come himself, but Clark raised so much money for the state party, and flew in under such severe weather conditions, she changed her tune real quick. But she had been planning to endorse Kerry (this was before he had wrapped up the delegate count) and really wanted him there. Can't say as I blame her--she did endorse him anyway, of course.

Clark was just on tonite's Scarborough Country on MSNBC. Rather in-depth discussion on today's events in Iraq, what needs to happen next, and then a short comment on Kerry's being the guy to lead the country before they cut him off.
Before that, I think the last time I heard him was toward the end of last week on NPR.

because while we did see some these candidates go on these shows during the primary. things are a little different now and they have to defend kerry while defending themselves and lay out kerry's message rather than just their own(although they all agree on most things so it's shouldn't be too difficult). kerry can see who does the best in this and therefore can help him.

It seems that Edwards is waiting to be the VP. He has energy and is promoting the middle class.

19. Seamlessly tied his message and Kerry's |
|
Edwards did a good job crediting Kerry with the message that he had been promoting during the campaign and a great job leveling Bush and Company: something like "they wait until the fourth year of their term to deal with the loss of jobs. This is a pattern with them." Very forceful and easy to understand.

the good thing for kerry is he has so many good people to pick vp from, the hard part is he can only pick one.
