27. So is Hillary's "victory" tonight |
|
Once all the results are in, Obama will likely pick up one or two delegates.

33. That's my prediction... still holding true. |
|
It's Obama up 1 to 7 delegates for March 4, 2008. Making his lead even larger.
Hillary may win the primary in Texas by 75,000 to 100,000... but the places where she won big have many fewer delegates than the places where Obama won.
State wide totals are meaningless.
Not to mention that Obama should easily win the caucuses.
Hillary supporters may strut around for a while... let them. Obama won more delegates.
She isn't going to catch up no matter what now.
She had to win 58-42 to even have a shot a tying this up.

3. Worse, it's not a win if she falls further behind!!! |
|
RI +3 for Hillary VT +3 for Obama
OH +5 to +9 for Hillary TX +10 to +12 for Obama (even if he loses the primary!) :wow:
But we won't know for sure for at least several DAYS.
Best case for Hillary -1 for the day. Best case for Obama +7 for the day.

Wins are wins. But the fact remains that she has yet to win more pledged delegates than Obama on any day this year.

5. And all this money is being spent to fight another democrat. |
|
That's the worst part of it all. A MINIMUM of $85M raised in February alone, between Obama & Clinton - just to fight against each other. Imagine that against McCain and his what? 14M?

6. It's A Huge Win. There Is Nothing In Politics More Valuable Than Perception. |
|
And with the wins she has tonight, if she holds onto Texas, that perception is firmly in her corner for the time being.
Obama couldn't put her away tonight. Again, Hillary took the big states. The ones that the insider Dems actually CARE about. The perception that goes along with that is HUGE. Don't underestimate that...

17. yeah, because momentum has worked so WELL for both of them in the past. |
|
Really, it's almost as if the Democratic party doesn't WANT to "put either away".
As soon as one is "ahead", it's almost magical the way the other one comes back.
Or maybe there is someone ELSE that doesn't want us to have a nominee early in the process... Someone that benefits if we beat each other into a bloody pulp and spend a lot of money in the process.
Nah...

Obama wins more delegates today than Hillary did. Yeah, only a single digit GAIN over Hillary, but it's still a gain.

11. Unfortunately, no one on her side sees it this way. |
|
So we're going to have lots more crazy "3 a.m." ads and a lot of other dirty, low down things thrown at Barack. That's the only way Hillary's people know how to campaign. And, now they think this is a "successful" strategy. YIKES!
Please save us from this nonsense! She's a divisive, polarizing figure. She's not electable in a general election. And, she simply HAS TO GO! NOW! Before she destroys the Democratic party.

18. She is not way behind. |
|
She is behind in delegates but not far behind. She may not be able to totally catch up without some kind of do over in Florida and Michigan, but the margin is small. Obama will not have the majority of delegates he needs to win either. If Clinton ends up with all the momentum and a majority of the popular votes cast this primary season, she has a strong case.
