Obama outspent Hillary in Texas and Ohio 2:1 and still lost
Not a very good return on investment (as he said about Romney).

Barack Obama is significantly out-spending Hillary Clinton on television advertising in Texas and Ohio, and his advertising edge has been compounded by a raft of commercials being aired by two large labor unions that are supporting him.

Since the two candidates began advertising in the two states about Feb. 12, Obama has spent a bit more than $7 million, while Clinton has spent about $4 million, according to Evan Tracey, the chief operating officer of the Campaign Media Analysis Group, which tracks network advertising. Obama was running far more adds over the past two weeks, but in recent days, the two candidates have been on a similar schedule.

3. Um he was down in the polls by 30 percent like 3 weeks ago.
He cut that lead by more than half. Geez you can't expect miracles to happen in 2 freakin weeks!!

Ohio Poll

Clinton's March 4th strategy is based on numbers that will look like this for the next two weeks. Keep in mind, she is expected to do better in Texas than Ohio.

Here are the latest Ohio polls from USASurvey:
Democrats
Clinton - 56
Obama - 39

Obama ended up with 44%--not huge gains

21. He was down 30 points 3 weeks ago. There were polls that indicated it. YOU are off!

At the very least, the Quinnipiac poll showed him 24 points behind 2 weeks ago. He made up HUGE ground in just 2 weeks, you forget he is a relative newcomer to the scene. The bigger question is, as much as the democrats love the Clintons why isn't Hillary able to completely shut Obama down? Why is he winning more states than her? Answer that one for me.

4. You have that backwards. Obama outspent her and in OH halved her lead and in TX may still win...
...after being down by 20+ points...

I'd say that's a fantastic ROI...

24. Who cares how much he spent?
Obama's campaign has money to burn, and Hillary has to lend her campaign money! Sometimes you spend money in order to force your opponent to spend money s/he doesn't want to. Obama knows that, which is why he will continue his march towards the nomination.

6. He made up 20 points in two weeks in Texas and 10 in Ohio. I call that a great return.
He was never expected to win those states, and I am damn proud he came so close here in Texas and when it's all over, the caucus will be his. Hillary was the one who needed 65% or more to get ahead.

The spin is absolutely incredible!

7. Hillary has been effective at playing the race card with Muslim
smears, so she got the ignorant fear-based voter turnout. Hillary has no class.

8. Lost this battle. Held the delegate counts. Obama wins the war.
Go to slate.com's delegate calculator and run the numbers yourself.

9. a) he's gonna win TX by a delegate or two b) he had to make up way more ground
Here's the real story: he still has momentum. If Hillary had made up twenty points in TX and 15 in Ohio, like he did on her, it'd all be about her momentum.

The cash is his, the lead is his, the next week is his, and the gloves are coming off. That looks pretty good to this Obama supporter.

10. Hasn't he spent more in general?
Cause he has more money to spend?

Once again, with feeling: his campaign predicted these losses months ago. But unlike her campaign, they could afford to still attempt to be competitive, rather than just writing them off.

11. Hillary spent a great portion of goodwill of democratic supporters.
Her cost was much greater than Obama's.

12. And Bill Clinton spent $200 on a haircut and lost hair. So what?
It's campaign money. It is to be spent on a campaign. That Obama outspent Hillary doesn't bother me. Why should it bother you? If she had raised as much as Obama, maybe she would have spent more than him.

15. Well, a few issues with that...
1) He hasn't lost Texas. He's ahead in the caucus voting and we won't know who won until they finish.

2) He was a 20-point underdog in Texas just weeks ago. He came back to either a narrow loss or a narrow win.

3) Clinton didn't need to just eke out a victory in Texas, she needed a big win. Texas is, at MOST, a 4-point net delegate gain for her. Considering the number of delegates left in the race that she'll need to win, a 4-point gain in her current situation actually puts her further behind.

4) Obama outspent her because he could. His campaign is in great financial shape...her's isn't. It doesn't matter how much money he spends as long as he doesn't run out (like Clinton did).

Still, thanks for playing...

20. That may have worked in his favor in this case.
Clinton has some pretty high "unfavorable" numbers in a lot of places.

22. Clintons campaign is millions in debt according to the Washington Post.
Here is a snippet:

Her organization, though, is drained of money and energy. Outgunned by Obama in the fundraising department, the Clinton campaign is carrying millions of dollars in debt, although officials would not say how much, and it threw everything it had into Texas and Ohio.
