WHERE IS THE 50 DELEGATE BOMB, RE: BROKAW?
Was there no truth to that? I am wondering why he would say that if there is no truth to it.

4. Patience, young padewan
1) it's a rumor - for all we know, Brokaw was just stirring the pot

2) Obama will want to release funding totals for February first and give that time to sink in

3) It might be better to work towards a win in Wyoming next Saturday or even one in Mississippi next Tuesday and then announce it

4) Obama campaign doesn't want to look like they're under pressure or being sore losers

5) any other reasons I haven't thought of yet

5. I think that is a hand they will play carefully. Clinton could care
less whether the phony playing of the victim/gender card guarantees a Republican win and 3 McCain appointed Supreme Court Justices. So it's a balancing act - so Hillary can't cry about the mean male superdelegates ganging up on her to push her out of the race.

27. Yes, but Obama very may well win the Texas caucus.
...and if he wins by enough, he'll carry more delegates in Texas which, I think we all agree, is what a "win" consists of.

40. As we've discussed before, Clinton's caucus voters "voted twice" too.
That's within the rules.

The fact that many only voted in the primaries does speak to their commitment to her campaign, though. They couldn't be bothered to vote in the caucus.

48. Right...
The fact that they couldn't bother to spend 5 HOURS in line after they ALREADY VOTED to vote again.

I guess your right. It should be one hour, one vote. Makes sense to me.

</sarcasm>

The rules certainly say that there should be a caucus. But the rules do NOT give pledged delegates the final say. So the fact that he "won" Texas because he did well among voters who voted twice is just spin. Or you could say, Hillary got the most number of people to vote for her in Texas, so she wins. What a concept.

Superdelegate Endorsement List

Here's a list of superdelegates to the 2008 Democratic Convention that have officially announced who they plan to nominate.

We have also created a list of superdelegates that have not committed to a candidate.

24. PS - I never expected to all announce on the same day
And the Obama campaign doesn't want it that way.

They'd much prefer a slow, constant stream of support. Each one holds more power and influence.

And that way each SD gets their own press.

36. It would seem too undemocratic
If the day after Clinton's win, 50 superdelegates in a bloc went to Obama. IT would make the voters in Ohio, Texas and RI, feel disenfranchised and as if the party brass were canceling out their votes.

I would hope Obama is more politic than to do that. He's playing it cautiously and close to the vest.

If I were devising strategy for the Obama campaign I would bring them out after victories in Wymoming and Mississippi OR shortly before the PA primary.
