"A little bit retarded" Pat Buchanan on Dan Abrams
Pat, when guessing the likely interpretation by Mississippians of Hillary's gaffe when she compared them to Iowans, said they would think Hillary is calling them a little bit retarded.

I'm paraphrasing, of course.

He made me laugh with his captain obvious impersonation. Sometimes I love that crazy old bastard.

1. Mostly I hate his politics. One time, however, back when
he was running for President, his limo stopped at a local fast food joint. My brother happened to be waiting in the line inside, and Pat came in and got in line behind him. My brother asked for his autograph (just in case lightning struck) and he was very nice about it.

So even though he is, indeed, politically batshit crazy, he's apparently not as horrible of a human as I expect r's to generally be.

3. reportedly, everyone in Washington wants to sit by Pat...
...at dinner parties. They say he's extremely entertaining. He grew up in Washington, and knows all the skinny.

9. True, but according to my brother he was
friendly and shook hands with a bunch of customers and the staff, who, by the way, are mostly Hispanic. He wasn't displaying any animosity toward anybody.

4. Welcome to the DU. Mississippi is going to pay Hillary back for her comments.
I guess it wasn't enough to call most of America "insignificant" or states that don't "matter". She had to take it one step further and piss all over Mississippi.

8. Thanks!
Yeah, it is a lot easier to avoid cognitive dissonance when your candidate doesn't go around insulting 40 states. I don't know how the Hillary people do it. You all should switch to our guy. I promise the grass is greener.

Go Obama.

6. And yet, who made the faux pas when
she thought she wouldn't be competing in Mississippi? What campaign thought it would be over on Super Tues with them holding all the goodies? What candidate came in third in Iowa?

This is worth a Rec'd!
