The respected reason to oppose Hillary |
|
Edited on Fri Mar-07-08 12:54 PM by quinnox
I see a lot of angry threads posted by people who are upset at Hillary mainly for one reason, her vote for the Iraq war.
And I respect them.
IMHO, this is the most respectable and principled reason to oppose her and I can understand this point of view.
On most other issues Hillary is very strong and basically a liberal (though carefully done in disguise to make her acceptable for a broader group than just liberals)
I am one Hillary supporter who has never defended her on this point of her war vote, and agree it was a terrible mistake. No, there is no wiggle room here, she made a big blunder on this vote.
WAs it bad enough to completely disqualify her from the presidency, I don't think so personally, but I can see how some could feel yes, it was.
So now it remains to be seen if this vote will cost her the nomination.
I think this is a major factor in her having the passionate opposition and Obama's rise.

4. Well, there's also the nasty campaign... |
|
Her vote for NCLB...
Her vote for the bankruptcy bill...
Her attacks on the first amendment...
The nepotism...
Her cozying up to Republicans...

6. Don't let the fact that BCCI thug Jackson Stephens, who GROOMED the Clintons' political careers |

to serve his agenda and continue to protect BushInc while wearing donkey masks, would effect how Democratic citizens should feel about the Clintons.

7. I know BCCI - and the arab princes, and Bert Lance as I saw the orginal events unfold - and |

Clinton was not in any of that to my knowledge (granted I have no BCCI knowledge).
American Bank was "our" Bank - I think if the Clinton's were in the loop I'd have heard about it.
"Our" refers to Olmstead (Ike and Reagan's buddy), the CIA, and Bert Lance's "investment group" - plus the Chevy Chase folks as the opposition within the game - other than Bert it had no other Democrat in a power position that were known to me - and I was the token socialist that Olmstead allowed to hang around for a few years because I made him a lot of money in his insurance operations. I did not know these people as "BCCI" - just as "investors".
Jackson Stephens has NSA comnnections (don't we all?) - is a Democrat from Ark - and a domestic campaign contributor to both George Bush Senior and Bill Clinton - the G W Bush connection is based on giving money to golf causes (it is hard to believe the fights over membership at golf clubs and eating clubs).
The word "groomed" is over the top - but he was a contributor to Clinton.
As for BCCI and Jackson Stephens, I have no first hand or second had or even bathroom rumor information - I have seen the reports - but I suspect those folks giving those reports can document about the same amount that I can (which is near zero except for the FDIC/SEC/Treasury public documents - if they still exist).

8. You know one SMALL PART. And the reason you DON'T know much about Stephens is BECAUSE |
|
Bill Clinton made sure all of that was downplayed and deep-sixed throughout the 90s.
He respects YOU so much as a citizen that he didn't write one word about BCCI matters in his book. THAT is how much YOU are respected as a citizen, papau. YOU didn't DESERBVE to know one thing about how Bill dealt with BCCI matters and the thugs involved.
YOU don't care and don't care if the protection of BushInc continues as long as your 'favorite team' wins.
The gamers have taken over government and closed it down to responsible citizens who actually CARED about keeping government accountable.

3. I don't think it disqualifies her |
|
and should she get the nomination, I'll vote for her just like I voted for Kerry in 04. She's a better choice than McCain.
But in the primaries I can't support her. Can't do it. nope. With her vote for the AUMF she lost mine.

If she would have gone the John Edwards route on this |
|
she could have shut me up long ago. But the IWR vote continues to cripple her in my mind. For me, she was already stumbling out of the starting gates with this albatross around her neck.
