You know you're a good progressive parent when... |
|
Your four year old is excited to wear Obama buttons, and recognizes him on site. AND... When Hillary pops up on screen he shouts out, "Look A Clinton", with a smile showing how proud he is to know who they both are :)
Poor kid has been forced to listen to Air America in the car, Keith Olbermann & News reports his entire life. His favorite part is the "Duh, duh - duh, duh - AHH" on Olberman's show.

1. Mine are 24 and 29 now |

They are both for Obama. I guess I raised them right? More so since they grew up in NY and previously voted for Hillary?

and both voted for obama. however, my sister, their mother likes huckabee -- doesn't like his pro-life or anti-gay views, but he seems like a nice guy.

2. Four is a really cool age and it's never to early |

to get them 'involved', for lack of a better word. My 7-year old nephew is an Obama fan and his brother, who is 11, is a Hillary fan.

3. When my son was 4 he memorized "Bush Lied, Soldiers Died and You Don't Care!" |
|
one of the chants we used when we protested various Bush & Co. events in our town.
He still talks about Iraq in terms of 'Bush's war.'

4. I grew up thinking about war all the time. Sad that kids still have to, eh? |
|
Born in '63, I heard about war from the time I could talk until I was 12 years old in '75.
I got used to it. :scared:

My kids are 8 and 11; I took them to their first political rally last sunday. they were very excited to see Obama. It was a little too much standing and waiting, but they enjoyed the speech.
They were banned from talking Politics on the school bus in 04 (then they were only 5 and 7)... I found out the Bus Driver was a republican and she was tired of hearing why she shouldn't vote for Bush from a 7 year old! It was a proud moment!

The kids today will have to face tough issues tomorrow. The severity of those issues greatly depends on our decisions today. So it is extremely important that the young ones understand what is going on here.
