Daschle was on The Daily Show Last night, in his capacity |
|
of Super Delegate. He has indicated that he is an Obama supporter. He also said that a group (no indication of the size of the group) had agreed among themselves to finally align themselves with whichever candidate is ahead in delegates at the end of this mess. He indicated that he would willingly change his vote to Clinton if she had the lead.
I wish this whole thing would end sooner, rather than later, while there is still some shred of fellow-feeling between Democrats. Remember that most (out "there") are comfortable with either candidate.

2. Daschle is something more than a superdelegate |
|
He is also instrumental in lining up other SDs for Obama and was apparently instrumental in getting some senators to go for Obama. So I don't think he'd be saying that unless he was confident Sen Obama would be in the lead in delegates going into the convention.

6. That's OK. If Hillary is ahead in delegates, he can always change his mind. |

7. As one of Tom Daschle's former constituents, I am happy that he has supported Obama. |
|
I voted for him many, many times and he was a great Senator for the state of South Dakota. He was defeated in overwhelmingly republican state because John Thune ran on a campaign that being close to Bush would bring benefits for out state. Those benefits never came and I believe that if the election were held again, Daschle would win resoundingly. But despite Senator Daschle being a great Senator, I really don't believe that he was cut out to be a Senate Majority Leader. Just as I don't think Harry Reid is either. Why can't we as Democrats elect a Senate Majority Leader who can stand up for us a party?
