HRC, Rwanda, Samantha Powers and Monster Bullshit...
I have been following presidential politics since the early 1980's and the longer I do, the more I realize how much the Clinton's are more about Number One than the national party or Democratic strength. It really is about "them" and here is some more proof.

Samantha Powers, a human rights and genocide academic and activist, was just fired for referring to HRC as a "monster."

In contrast, HRC had an adviser state Obama is just like Ken Starr.

My point is, during the Clinton years, Bill Clinton refused to send troops into Rwanda mainly because his main opposition was a Republican congress and this led to the hacking deaths of almost a million people.

So Samantha Powers who documented this terrible genocide in 100 days is expendable because a supposed Democrat complains about it, while the other falls along the roadside.

It's quite odd to me that HRC is more offended at being called a "monster" while ignoring her husband folded to a Republican Congress which led to the deaths of almost 1 million people.

1. She was fired for taking the campaign off message.

Has nothing to do with Hillary. Has only to do with discipline of a campaign. She screwed up big time.

Also, you have conflated two incidents.

10. I linked the two because....
it shows the level of ridiculousness when it comes to the kind of things that "outrage" HRC and her supporters....

2. He only fired her for show. There has been much worse from them.
Why don't you email the great leader and ask him to take her back. I'm sure she'll provide more entertainment for us all.

Hasn't she heard about the politics of hope? Isn't she one of the one's we've been waiting for?

4. Why keep trying to rationalize it?
This is what happens in politics when someone becomes a liability.

Hillary didnt fire her, btw, Obama did.

6. As an Edwards supporter I really can't embrace either
candidate at this time. This reference to Ken Starr by the Clinton campaign was referencing what? As bad as Ken Star was to the Clinton's, he is a person with a name. The reference by the Obama staff member with her pedigreed background was referencing what? Calling the former first lady a monster is wrong. Period..... We need to remember that in the end, one of these two will be our primary winner representing us in the G.E. This situation between the two candidates is just so unnecessary. People are homeless, dying in a war that was manufactured, and we spend more in this country to incarcerate each other, than we do to educated each other.

12. Too bad.
The fact that Power was an advisor means there really is a difference in substance.

11. It's just faux outrage..the kind the media loves best..
Edited on Sat Mar-08-08 11:54 AM by SoCalDem
anyone her age, and at her level , has been called much worse..and probably to her fae..

Monster is pretty tame, as insults go..and sometimes the actions of a person can push another to say something they wish they hadn't..BFD..

After all the shit piled on last week, I cannot say I disagree with her assessment entirely.

Monsters are a part of our lexicon..

Monster.com
Cookie Monster
MonsterBurgers
Monsters Inc.

People actually LIKE monsters.. they dress up like them on Halloween..they pay millions of dollars to see them at the movies..

Luckily for us , most people are not paying all that much attention to MSNBC,CNN,Fox et al..and magazines have a pretty low circulation, and people's lives are pretty well consumed with work, family and more work.
