Has Anyone Here Switched Support For Your Candidate Because Of Something You Read Here? |
|
If so, what exactly caused you to change your mind?
If not is there any reason for all the non-stop bickering? I come here mostly for news about MY preferred candidate, only to become distracted by the inane potshots in every thread. I often get caught up in the back and forth myself, but I make an effort to refrain from commenting in the threads of my opponents supporters unless they are just too outrageous or inflammatory. If more posters here would try conducting themselves like adults I'm sure it would make this forum a more enjoyable experience.

1. Way back when, I avoided GDP, and was leaning towards Hilary, |
|
but was letting it play out...by way back when I mean Novemeber...I don't know if what I read here pushed me towards her, but evcery time I come there is just so much BS that I don't believe I could vote for BO in the GE...by your logo, I'm sure you'll have issues with that...the past few days have been the worst...blaming everyone else for BO's mistakes.

6. Fine with me...although it ain't gonna happen...and I think BO will be the |
|
one to blame...am I the only one who sees that Hilary is also angling for the VP slot? She's trying to come off as reconcilatory, and BO is just brushing her off...at a time when party elders are hoping this nomination gets resolved soon, that ain't good.

10. I See It Differently... |
|
She's said McSame is more qualified to be CIC in one breath and in the next promoting a dream ticket. I don't think she wants to be VP, and even if that's what she is angling for, why should he be pushed into taking on her baggage?

|
Now that's what I see here...Hilary is Satan...everyone hates her. News flash, she may not be winning the election, but she's pretty close behind...she has a lot of followers and BO supporters can't seem to understand that.

15. I Was Referring To Her "Electability" Baggage |
|
Democrats who would ONLY vote for her in the GE might reap what they sow. I think most Democrats will vote for either candidate regardless.

20. Don't underestimate Hilary...all candidates have baggage, and as |
|
we've seen, the point is to get the media to foucs on your opponent's baggage.

19. She needs HIM, more than he needs her.. |
|
She's the one with the sky-high negatives She's the one who's red meat for the knuckledraggers She's the one whose popularity is more her husband's than hers
He's the one who's fired up a shitload of new voters to the party He's the one who has a positive approach to the world problems
if the sooopers throw it to her, I'm guessing that most of the new people and many of the "old base" will sit this one out, so many of the voters she's counting on, willl not be there for her..
Mccain might screw up, but we can;t count on it

3. If someone has, that's pretty bad. |

People should study in depth. Too bad so many Americans prefer rhetoric over reading and due diligence.

I originally supported Kucinich, and Hillary was not an early consideration of mine. I made a switch due to what I saw as unfair attacks on Hillary. Now the attacks didn't 'change' my mind, what helped me realize the benefits to a Hillary Presidency came as a result of the research on her that I did when I found myself defending her.
Simply put -- Attacks against Hillary caused me to do more investigation --and I liked very much what I found.
Conversely --the more I found out about Obama -the less I liked.
Discussions on this board didn't sway me -- but they did cause me to take a deeper and more rational look at the candidates.

Exactly how I feel. I have been reading DU for years and considered it a great source of info, but no longer. Very little substance and alot of BS of late most notably by BO supporters. I even went to a BO rally here in my little Texas town and felt like I was at a religious revival! Yike... I won't even go into what happened at the caucuses, but they were totally hijacked by BO followers even though HC won the popular vote.

23. Why don't you lay that out for us??? |
|
Please, it would be great to read something of actual substance from a Hillary supporter.
What about her did you decide you liked more than you thought you would and what about him did you decide you didn't like?
It would be great to know if this is soft-boiled or a well thought out position.

5. Yes, I was hopeful for Obama but the hatred of his supporters |
|
has made me reluctant.
I will support the Dem candidate, rather I will cast a vote for the Dem candidate, but I cannot stand with the Obama supporters that post here.
The arrogance and immaturity of the Obama folks who spit on the hard work and accomplishments of older progressive activists wo have been working for liberal change for decades is more then I can stomach.

9. The reason I don't know you is that I've been busy working for |

progressive causes and you never showed up to help.
Now you want to tell me and my brethren that our efforts at the barricades has been useless and even corrupt.

The reason you don't know me is that this is a message board on the internet.
You have no idea what you are talking about. I support Barack Obama, and there are many that man the barricades that do the same.
You are puffing yourself up.

of his cult members.
The adults who are skeptical will not be lectured to by the X-box generation who have decided to show up and save the day.

17. My 77 year old mother switched from Clinton to Obama |
|
not because of this site but because of the negative tone that came out of the Clinton campaign after Iowa. She was particularly upset by the rhetoric of Senator Clinton's husband, President Clinton during the SC primary. She, like I, is afraid that this divisive turn in what should be a celebratory primary season is going to allow McCain to sneak into the White House.
