Hillary supporters- why are you pushing for MI?
Edited on Sat Mar-08-08 10:20 AM by adoraz
Just an honest question. Why are you all pushing for Michigan? I know why you all want Florida- she will win- but do you really think you will win Michigan?

A poll from yesterday

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/michigan/election_2008_michigan_democratic_presidential_primary

has them tied. That is of course with neither candidate being there.

Also, it will be a caucus. (edit: nothing official yet, but it is looking to be that way)

Obama should win. He even won the Texas caucus, and thats in a huge state where Hillary won the primary.

Me, personally I want Michigan to revote because I am very confident Obama will win there.

3. give me a break
if they knew they were going to lose, there is absolutely no way they would want a recount. this is politics.

We are only seeing all this belly-aching because Hillary needs a boost. FL and MI knew the rules. They fucked-up. Now they must deal.

2. All votes should be counted. Why is it that Obama wins caucuses but

not primaries? I know but I doubt you do.

6. Obama has a better ground team and can energize voters better
thats why. In earlier states it was because Clinton didn't do anything in them.

point is though, if Michigan is a redo it WILL be a caucus whether people like it or not. Hillary will more than likely lose.

10. He's won as many primaries as Hilly
Why do hillbots insist on telling that falsehood? They get spanked for it every single time.

7. question for you
If Hillary supporters knew in advance they would lose in MI, do you honestly think they would want it recounted?

and be honest.

I want the folks in MI to be represented at the convention. This race is too close to leave any voters out.

15. why not. Why are you prying for some hypocrisy to make your point?
I'm for letting folks vote and counting the votes, no matter who is PROJECTED to win by polls and pundits.

Edited on Sat Mar-08-08 10:15 AM by adoraz
okay, just for the sake of this topic, lets just say this:

By all accounts it looks like Obama will win the caucus by a decent margins. Lets say he is leading in the polls and stuff by good margins.

Would you still want a revote?

27. Every voter should have a chance to be represented. No matter what polls say, I want voters to vote
I can read polls like everyone else. I go into these contests fully expecting to either win, or, put a dent in the delegate count. I don't back into these primary contests. I prefer to believe that my candidate can succeed in ALL contests. That's the attitude which I think keeps me energized, focused, and determined.

I think most supporters wouldn't agree with you though on either side, but if you are being honest then I like your reasoning.

9. well at this point nothing is decided
not even redos yet. I have heard though that it was originally going to be a caucus, and if it will be a redo it will be a caucus. nothing official at this point, but I would bet on it being a caucus unless something changes.

23. fair enough
I should have stated in the OP that it wasn't offical yet, but it is looking that way.

I think theres a much better chance that will happen, but I will include that it still may be a primary.

18. The results from the Texas Caucus won't be available till the end of this month.
Just an FYI. They're not like regular caucuses where the results are posted at the end of the night.

24. obama is up 12% with 41% of the vote in
he will win. I know most the media hasn't called it yet, but they always play it very safe (took them forever to call Ohio).

25. It's not like a regular caucus though, it won't be done until the end of March.
It's not about "calling it" as you say, it's about waiting till the results are in. It's not like a regular primary or election that takes place in one night/day.

26. never stated it was
all I said was I think Obama will win, and Obama and his people have already called it so they must feel very confident.

until I see any reason why he shouldn't win by the rules, I think its safe to be called at this point.

20. I Think Obama Will Handily Win MI. But Fair Is Fair.
I don't want to speak for others, but maybe they support it because they consider it a fair trade off, since FL has far more delegates up for grabs, and they think pushing for both is the best way to get it, so that they can get the FL delegates?

Don't know. I just think MI needs to be redone because it obviously wasn't fair the first time around. Obama will likely win it.
