She has also spoken out strongly against mutilation of Muslim girls. I understand around 95% of young Muslim girls in Africa are mutilated, the equivalent of male castration, and without pain killers.

If you study more about Hillary Clinton’s background, you will also notice that throughout the last 35 years she has been a strong advocate for protecting not just women but children, the sick, and even animal protection groups give her excellent ratings. Children, animals and often sick people are not able to vote. These facts indicate to me a lot about her true character: a highly compassionate person who cares about the vulnerable being abused

The data she received would have been troubling: by 1985, there was not a single woman among the company’s top 42 officers, according to “In Sam We Trust,” the 1998 book about Wal-Mart by Bob Ortega.

John E. Tate, who served as a director with Mrs. Clinton from 1988 to 1992, recalled that by her third board meeting Mrs. Clinton had announced “that you can expect me to push on issues for women. You know that. I have a reputation of trying to improve the status of women generally, and I will do it here.”

As a lawyer, advocate, First Lady, and senator, Hillary has fought for issues important to women here at home and around the world for decades. Hillary's historic statement at the United Nations Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995 that "women's rights are human rights" still echoes worldwide. As Senator, she enacted legislation to designate the Kate Mullany House, home to one of America's first women labor leaders, a National Historic Site and introduced legislation to create a Women's History Trail in upstate New York, home of the first Women's Rights Convention in Seneca Falls, New York, the launching site of the 72-year struggle for women's suffrage.

Hillary knows that women still earn less than men for doing the same work. That's why she has championed legislation to increase women's economic empowerment, such as the Paycheck Fairness Act, which would help close the pay gap that costs families an average of $4,000 a year. Hillary's legislation will increase penalties for violating the Equal Pay Act, provide women with more information about their rights, and create voluntary guidelines to show employers how to evaluate jobs and eliminate unfair disparities. As First Lady, Hillary worked to expand access to microcredit to help women in developing countries start their own businesses.

Hillary has also fought to ensure that women get to make the most personal of life decisions, and that they have access to the full range of reproductive health care. She spearheaded an effort to provide greater access to family planning, contraception, and full sex education, and waged a three-year, ultimately successful battle to convince the Food and Drug Administration to approve Plan B, emergency contraception, for over-the-counter use. She strongly opposed the nominations of John Roberts and Samuel Alito, calling them the greatest threat to Roe v. Wade in history.

As President, Hillary will continue to champion the causes that she has fought for her whole life, and that matter to women. She'll make a major commitment to early child development programs, including home visiting for all at-risk new moms, expanded quality child care, and guaranteed access to pre-K. She'll enact affordable health care for everyone that will put a priority on making sure families get access to the screenings and prevention initiatives they need to stay healthy, and catch disease early when it does strike. She'll launch a major campaign to recruit and retain excellent teachers, double the college tax credit, and require colleges to lock in tuition rates years in advance so families can plan. She'll set a big goal of making paid parental and caregiving leave available to every parent by 2016; expand the Family and Medical Leave Act to employees of business with 25 employees or more; and make 7 sick days a year available to every full-time worker. And she'll protect Social Security and create 401(k)s with a generous federal match for every worker to ensure that families have a secure retirement.

Every brothel the police have shut down in this county for the past 5 years was run by traffickers, and staffed by Hispanic women who were held in virtual slavery - some had not been out of the house in a couple years.

NAFTA created a FEW manufacturing jobs in Mexico, while it DEVASTATED the Mexican agricultural sector. It took a couple years after implementation for the results to be felt, but it DIRECTLY caused the massive influx of Mexican immigrants. And THAT created the demand for Mexican prostitutes.

I live in Alaska and work as a social worker.

Rethugs at state and federal levels have ensured that social programs have been cut and slashed down to nothing here. Women, children and homeless people have never had it worse.

Many of our rural communities and villages have no access to police locally to report violence and sexual response teams/mental health professionals are stretched over hundreds of miles.

Our sexual assault rates are 3 times the national average and childhood sexual abuse is 6 times higher (and rape is horribly under reported in rural communities). Native women in some villages don't leave their home without car heart overalls on, but not because of the cold. You see, it is more difficult for the rapist to assault the women if they have overalls on.

Oh, and forget about providing mental health services or drug/ETOH treatment. If people in Anchorage (population 284,000) are lucky they may land one of our 8 detox beds that remain after the recent closure of our largest detox facility.

Alaskan people simply cannot afford any more rethug rule.

We, the undersigned small business owners from across the country are deeply offended that you continue to accept campaign contributions from top officials of a business consulting company, International Profit Associates (IPA), Buffalo Grove, IL., that defrauded us. As we struggle in federal court via a civil racketeering lawsuit to recover the thousands of dollars this company took from us illegally, you continue to use political donations that might have come directly from our pockets.

We also are appalled because you accepted the money amid dark clouds of fraud allegations, a criminal past by the company’s founder, and one of the largest sexual harassment lawsuits ever filed by the federal government.

We are trying to fight back against this company and you, Senator Clinton, are enabling it. We ask that you immediately donate to charity the more than $150,000 the New York Times says you’ve accepted from IPA’s top officials, a figure that includes a ride on IPA’s corporate jet and a donation from a high school age son of an IPA official.

Surely, now, in the wake of the Norman Hsu scandal, your political staff will turn up the background we’ve known about for some time, including:

 IPA is being sued by the federal government’s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for widespread sexual harassment. In a New York Times article May 7, 2006 titled, “Rubbing Shoulders with Trouble, and Presidents,” EEOC lawyer Diane Smason called the allegations “probably the most egregious” ever filed by the agency’s Chicago office. She said the investigation found that “sex harassment is the standard operating procedure for this company.” That case is pending in U.S. District Court.

 The Illinois Attorney General’s office has acknowledged publicly that it is investigating IPA for alleged fraud.

 The Better Business Bureau says IPA has an “unsatisfactory record” based on reoccurring complaints that total 427 in the last three years. The BBB has issued “alerts” in various states to warn businesses that IPA was soliciting work there.

 The company founder, John Burgess, is a convicted criminal, according to numerous published reports. He was convicted of attempted grand larceny and of soliciting a 16-year-old prostitute, those reports state. He was disbarred as a lawyer in New York state in July 1987 for “failing to answer charges which involved perjury, larceny, a conviction for patronizing a 16-year-old prostitute, possession of drugs and engaging in a pattern over a six-year period of lies and deceit,” according to The Lawyers Fund for Client Protection of New York state. Burgess also is named as a key defendant in the sexual harassment lawsuit.

 The company’s attorney, Myron “Mike” Cherry, also a contributor of yours(Clinton's), has been identified in published reports as “Individual H” in the Illinois criminal indictment of businessman Antoin “Tony” Rezko. Cherry has acknowledged in published reports that he was the conduit for some of the IPA campaign contributions.



 Already, politicians across the country have returned donations from IPA because of the company’s checkered past. Illinois Senator Barack Obama, Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle and former Wisconsin Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager are among those who have returned contributions from IPA.

We have made our fraud allegations in a federal racketeering lawsuit pending in U.S. District Court in Chicago.

Mrs. Clinton, we see from published reports that you have identified yourself as a champion for women’s rights and an advocate for small business owners. We cannot fathom, in light of those self-labels, how you could possibly accept campaign contributions from a company accused by the federal government of sexually harassing scores of women and one that has left behind a long trail of fraud complaints from small business owners. Do you believe the 114 women who were allegedly sexually harassed at IPA are not telling the truth about that harassment? Do you believe the Better Business Bureau is wrong? Do you think the state Attorney General is unjustified in her investigation of IPA?

We believe this is our concern because the campaign contributions you continue to accept came from the money that we believe was taken from us illegally. We do not believe you should continue to further your political career with such tainted cash.
