It's all so clear. Hillary's gotten her "high negatives" the hard way: she's earned them. |
|
After the behavior she's exhibited in the last couple weeks, it's easier for me to understand why Hillary Clinton has always had such "high negatives."
She's earned them - e.g. by saying how "honored" (x3) she is to be sharing the dais with her opponent and then stabbing him on his way off the stage.
She has reached the level of being George-Bush-duplicitous; and, like Bush, shows no remorse but, instead, keeps repeating the offensive remarks.
Her praise for McCain proves that she puts her own aspirations above the good of the people and the Democratic party, promoting the candidacy of a war-hungry Bush-loving Republican robot over Obama, rather than face off squarely and take part in a clean fight.
(And, btw, has anyone noticed that, until the series of debates was over, she referred to the major other candidate as "Barack," but since then she only refers to him as "my opponent"...)
And now she wants to disregard the rules when it appears that the rules are not in her favor. She wants FL and MI to be seated - even though the rules were laid out and approved before those two states decided to disregard them. Makes no difference to her that the penalty for disregarding the rules was known in advance of their actions. Makes no difference to her that Obama's name wasn't even on the ballot in Michigan, and no campaigning was allowed in either state. Hillary wants to disregard all those bothersome little facts and have Fl and MI seated. Why? Because she says so!!
I ask you - does this not sound like someone who might sign a bill into law with a dramatic flourish and then, as soon as the cameras are gone, pull a "signing statement" from the drawer and negate everything she just promised?
We've already had 7 years of a President who doesn't give a damn.
We don't need another one, even if it's a "she" who has a "D" after her name.
I'm for Obama all the way.

1. Sorry, to burst your Obama bubble |
|
but the ONLY reason Hillary has high negatives is because the media has been giving her non stop negative coverage. She has been vilified as a power hungry woman from the first day she got into the White House. She has been called every name in the book, whether or not it has been deserved. She has had more negative press than ANY other person in government, including Karl Rove. I'm guessing it's because she didn't act like all first ladies before her, so therefore she was power hungry and must be stopped.
She has done nothing to deserve all the animosity that has been shown here and in the media.

Regardless of where the negatives come from, she has them, in spades. Why would you want to take a chance with such a polarizing candidate?

The only people who have "vilified" Hillary have been right-wing nutjobs like Limbaugh. And yes, they were totally unfair, and very effective. Which is exactly why she should not be running at all. She has as much chance of being elected as Bin Laden does.
As for the MSM, they have done everything but hand her a scepter and crown, giving her a pass on all her absurd claims to experience, praising her for her ridiculous "3AM" ad, falsely giving her a "win" in Texas, etc.
Take your feminist filters off and see reality!

17. How do you explain the negatives she has generated at DU? |
|
Seems to me that people have been quite specific over what statements and actions she has made, that have generated negative feelings toward her. None of these specifics have anything to do with the media. It's been her own public statements.

|
In fact, the more I think about it, the more outrageous I find it that the press has made so little of a remark, repeated many times now, that is really about as disloyal to the party as you can get.
Add to that the fact that she now insists that Fl and MI should be seated, in spite of what the DNC has put forward, and you have someone who, in my eyes, cares not an iota what she can do for her party but only what her party can do for her.
I'm getting angrier by the hour.

73. It's in the msm interest to see her do well right now. They want to keep this charade going as long |
|
as possible. After each primary or caucus their ratings go way up. If this ended tomorrow, they wouldn't have their ratings.
I think that is another reason why the msm spun Hillary's win in Texas. The truth of the matter is that it was no win at all, and yet why all the babbling spin. They want this to go on and on and milk it for all it's worth.
So basically, as of right now, there is a basic black out of negative news from HRC as far as our msm goes.
This is my take on it anyway.

about her motives for doing so? Touting NAFTA for years, until it became politically expedient to not do so? Claiming the mantle of gay rights, while promising to do 'something' about DADT, and overturning one HALF of DOMA? Running on her strength as a fighter, while simultaneously playing the victim? Promising universal health care, while offering universal health insurance? Claiming her First Lady years as "experience", while disavowing all unpopular stances taken by her husband's administration?
Nah. It's all unreasoning hatred. That must be it.

However, that only lasted up through the final debate. And then she dropped the Hillary mask of congeniality and showed the world her true face - and she looks more like Zell Miller than I ever would've imagined.

|
But one thing keeps coming up in my mind. That clip where she says she was no Tammy Wynette (stand by your man). When I think back to that moment and go over it in my mind, if I would have really thought about it at the time, I could have perceived how divisive she really was and what a ignorant reply that really was. I just never really sat down to think about it all. I have in the last couple of weeks though. That's for damn sure.

|
... it's always got to be "something".
I'm beginning to wonder how many Hillary supporters who make statements like yours are either co-dependent or have an "enabler personality". Seriously.
If someone doesn't like her, it's NEVER because of something Hillary did... it's always because the person is "sexist" or "supports rape" or "is a member of the patriarchy" or "is an Obama sheeple" or whatever BS they happen to come up with at the moment.
That is classic co-dependent or enabler behaviour... don't hold Hillary responsible for her statements, behaviours, and actions, and be sure to blame or shame anyone who dares to disagree with Hillary.

She couldn't accuse people of being sexist for not liking her, or complain when people refer to her voice as shrill or her laugh as a cackle.
Maybe if she runs again in 2016, she'll be up against another woman. I can imagine how her claws would come out in that catfight.

NO more. I know believe pretty much aything the GOP says about her judging what she's done to DEMOCRATS from her own party. I've had it up to here with her sense of entitlement and her playing victim every chance she gets. Who exactly does she think she is? We all know that if it had not been for her last name she'd never been elected in NY--I think a lot of Dems there felt, as I did at the time, sorry for her and wanted to stick it to the GOP by electing her to the office. Little did we know she'd turn into a Republican-Lite to the point she'd vote for a war, keep funding it, and make nice with Murdoch, Rove, and McCain. WTF is that all about exactly? Forget it, she's history to me and history is where she belongs. She is not our party's future.

32. She was at her best when she was acting as a unifier. (Key word here is *acting*) |
|
Too bad that, when push comes to shove, she's all elbows.

24. It's a shame that she's willing to heap praise on a lunatic like McCain, rather than |
|
face the possibility of losing to Obama.
I guess her principles are disposable.

48. Well, even though she's turned me against her as a Presidential candidate, I do think |
|
she's done a good job as a junior senator from NY. And I think she should continue in that capacity, to prove she meant it when she said her only ambition was to serve out her term as Senator, helping NY.

53. I have to agree with you |

I have a co-worker who is a fire-breathing Hillary-hater. Just the mention of her name sends him into a rant about how sleazy she is, and how she'd do anything to get elected. Up until the past few weeks, I'd just roll my eyes and ignore him, thinking that he has a problem with women in positions of authority. I hate to admit it, but I'm starting to think that he's been right all along.
The whole thing about "I want a woman President, just not THIS woman" is making more sense.

Although he has had to start referrring to her again to defend himself it would be too vague otherwise. Folks may actually notice that I say things on here first, next thing he seems to say them. Although I did sway to DK when his healthcare plane was far superior to all candidates. This guy listens folks that is very improtant. The power f the email is mightier than the sword. You can connect so many dots with an email I love this technology. Folks on here will know I have been campaigning for Barack even before he mentioned it. Everyone was going Barack who? I said you'll soon know. Another cool thing is I backed McKinney for pres and whAddya know. If your mind can conceive it you CAN achieve it.
Reporter 2007 " the momentum behind Barack has even taken him by surprise" ;)

82. Queen Negativity has also decided that the nomination should be decided by the total popular vote-- |
|
forget about those pesky delegates and all those confusing rules. Let's just add up the popular vote in each state and whoever has the most gets the nomination.

I agree with everything you said. Hilary did a despicable thing, praising McCain in order to belittle Obama. She just lost herself any chance she might have had for the nomination, as far as I'm concerned. As a matter of fact, now she can go to hell. She's cooked her own goose.

and the high negatives she got stuck with in the 90s were NOT earned at all.
