How Hillary would handle a crisis - from Bill Maher last night.. |
|
Edited on Sat Mar-08-08 12:49 PM by Laurab
I've been looking for the video, but can't find it, but in Hillary's book, her "biggest crisis" was the Lewinsky affair and how did she react?
"I could hardly breathe. Gulping for air, I started crying and yelling at him, 'What do you mean? What are you saying? Why did you lie to me?"
Yep, that's who I want "answering the red phone at 3AM".
Edited to say K Gardner found the video - it's a few posts down!

I used Photoshop (CS3) to do it but you can create them in other programs. Feel free to steal if you like. :hi:

6. No, actually I think it's a much smaller "crisis" |
|
than one in which the "red phone" would ring. They're not the same thing, you're correct.

One is a personal betrayal and the other is a professional problem. And if you weren't intent on being intellectually dishonest you'd acknowledge that.

17. Well she brought up the "Crisis" meme. |
|
And those are her words - it was unfair to Obama, and it was also fear-mongering. I think it's completely appropriate.

31. Next time your spouse of several years cheats on you, publicly |

we'll see how you react.
It's been pointed out several times on this thread why this comparison is total bullshit, and the adolescent Clinton-haters are really reaching in an effort to snicker and snort like the big dorks they are.

|
I'm not an adolescent, although I admit my OP falls into the crap that is posted on GD-P.
I wasn't a "Clinton-hater" until she left me no choice by her behavior in this campaign. While I CAN understand people disagreeing with the comparison, I can't understand people who still support Hillary "I don't care if I destroy our chances in the GE" Clinton.

I think she was more upset that he got caught because she has always been about ambition and power.

|
And Maher wasn't going to let him get away with it. I really don't think it was an accident that he got disconnected. It wasn't going his way.
There was a time I would have never posted a post like the OP, but given her campaign methods, I couldn't help myself.

14. Jesus Christ Maher is a misogynist asshole |
|
I support Obama, but I don't need him "helping" with his woman-hating bullshit. What man wouldn't react emotionally to the news that his wife was cheating on him? I'm sure that would be different to Bill. After all, that would be a man being cuckolded!
I've often thought the one silver lining to Hillary being the nominee would be that it would be amusing to watch lefty "doodz" like Maher struggle with having to be respectful to a woman who was over the age of 22 and not "hawt".

18. However angrily she reacted in private |
|
she held herself together in public. I have lots of reasons I'd prefer not to see her as the nominee--some of her votes, some of her campaign tactics--but this is an area where she earned my respect.
She behaved with tremendous restraint and dignity during a really painful public ordeal.

I know that Bill Maher has problems with women, although I believe it's only in his personal relationships. I don't agree with him on many things, but Hillary crossed a line with that ad.
Goldberg adds a lot with his comments.

|
And the "she crossed the line defense" for sexist bullshit is bullshit. Anybody who thinks they can equate a deeply personal, hurtful situation to a world crisis situation is dumber than a box of rocks.

Her multiple personalities in the campaign have been, to say the least, disturbing.
I would say that anyone who can still defend HRC is "dumber than a box of rocks" but I don't want to insult rocks.

{The Red Phone Rings in the White House}
{President Hillary Clinton Answers after 5 rings}
Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff: {in an anxious voice} "President Clinton, China has launched multiple nukes and they will hit us in approximately 30 minutes."
President Hillary Clinton: {gulps for air for a few seconds, starts crying} "What do you mean? What are you saying? Why are they doing this to me?"
