Dirty dealings in Pennsylvania
I just came back from an Obama meeting in Washington County PA, where the Democratic party is firmly in the pocket of Hillary Clinton. Obama representative reported that the local Democratic committee had a "candidates' forum" last Saturday in which only Clinton was represented. Clinton supporters spoke, Clinton events were announced, and everyone was encouraged to take home a Clinton yard sign. When Obama's people complained that they weren't notified of the forum, they were told "Well, we notified the NAACP."

I'm steaming.

42. Whether they have or not is completely irrelevant
Edited on Sat Mar-08-08 09:21 PM by me b zola
What they did is akin to if Democratic officials in an Obama strong hold said that they had notified NOW (National Organization of Women) of the forum--as if only women are supporting Hillary.

What they did was racist, underhanded, and nasty.

It's official. I despise all things Clinton.

31. Agree - it's worth spending a little money on
do a mailer using the voter's register, see if you can get an elected official or superdelegate from Obama to address it, tell the local newspaper they'll get some good pictures etc. And be sure to slap 'Democratic party' over everything so it looks official.

The good thing is with 6-7 weeks until the PA primary you can build campaign momentum - ie have something new and more interesting happening every weekend so people feel the election has come to their doorstep.

She is counting on the backing of "Fast Eddie" Rendell and those kind of tricks to win Pennsylvania. Obama supporters are just going to have to work that much harder the next few weeks to overcome that kind of crap. We are counting on you to knock her out of the race.

5. With all due respect....
You heard this at an Obama meeting, which would not provide an unbiased report of what happened. Same thing would happen if I told you I just came from a Hillary meeting and was told something that was not favorable for Hillary. All of this must be taken with a grain of salt. Frankly I think the NAACP thing is just the Obama supporters trying to stir up the race issue again.

I think there is a lot of stuff out there on Hillary and Bill that will come out in the next few weeks and months and this will include an impending trial in CA for Paul v. Clinton - video (on the bottom of the page)and info at:

http://www.hillaryproject.com/index.php?/en/story-details/4035/

This in no way says that Clinton is guilty BUT the trial is going to be coming up in Oct, 08!

25. Philly is
Obama territory. Fast Eddie has no say or power here and he and Mixmaster Mike know that. As DLCers, they are bound to support the Clintons and its a losing battle in this very blue collar, unionized city. The news reported on the Obama supporters out there in force when the candidate presentations were being made to the city Ward leaders yesterday.

The ground operation is here in the state but remember that Clinton only focuses on "big states" and puts little or nothing on the "meaningless" small states. I.e., she has no "50-state strategy" but he does and is focusing on racking up state after state after state - letting people get to know him. Obama has traveled from sea to shining sea and just looking at those Wyoming pictures today made me once again lapse into awe at the electorate - many new - who were willing to come out to hear him speak. There is still a little over 6 weeks to go and plenty of time after the MS primary, to have the full blitz hit our state.

As an easterner, I wish you luck out west... :hi:
