What happened to the supposed intervention of senior officials who would tell Hilllary to drop out? |
|
Edited on Sat Mar-08-08 03:10 PM by galaxy21
It's been mentioned before, and I heard there where plans to do it if she won Ohio by a tiny margin, but then that was put on hold because her win was by a bigger margin than expected.
If they intend to do it, it should be before Pennsylvania: it's been brought up before, but since it's a swing state which Obama will have to win in Novemember, they really don't need Hillary telling them how bad he is for 7 weeks.
I dont think much of the republican party, but let's face it, if this was happening to them with two candidates and it was risking their chances in the elction , you know they would have basically ordered the lesser candidate out by now.

|
Nailed it.
This state could go for McCain in a heartbeat.
Thanks Hillary!

Yeah, ask the guy with the near insormountable delegate lead and more of the popular vote to drop out.
He also hasn't endorsed the enemy either.

13. Given that the two candidates are essentially tied at this point, |
|
with a major state yet to go, any attempt to force either to back off would be inappropriate.
Admit it: you're just scared Hillary will win Pennsylvania and the nomination unless the election is taken away from the voters and handed to Obama.

What part of 'she hasn't a chance of winning the delegate count' does no-one understand?
In fact with the Wyoming results in, it's even more impossible. Unless Obama is revealed to be a cross dresser or some other giant scandal in the next few weeks.

It's usually saner here - but the primary war is still in full force. I agree with you on the math and I think the superdelegates will not change the result from the pledged delegates.
The Clinton people are having trouble seeing that the inevitable candidate running a flawless campaign that their friends in the media dreamed of at least since 2000 (if not 1992), supported by "the only superstar in the Democratic party", is L O S I N G. When her campaign attacks Obama for not being positve (because he asked for the tax forms to be released) after it was the stated policy of her campaign to attack him with the kitchen sink, you know they are out of touch with reality.

17. Not tied in states won, not tied in popular vote not tied in delegates, not tied in money raised or |
|
number of donars.
And Obama has released his tax returns and Hill hasn't.
They aren't tied their either.
You sound fit to be tied, though

...I'm an Obama guy, and I want Hilary gone just as much as you all do, but let it happen through the course of the process- naturally. Let the people tell her she should drop out. It's our process, no?

It's not ideal, but you have to think of the greater good. And Hillary has shown, with her McCain comments, she will put herself above the party.
What's worse: telling Hillary to go, and thus, giving themselves a better chance to build Obama up for the election, or allowing a woman to indulge her ego, and possibly costing the dems the white house?
This isn't just because I like Obama, if this was Barack, and he was staying in a race he couldn't win and constantly giving the republicans ammunition against Hillary they could use in the fall, I'd be the first to tell him he should leave.

Obama has an insurmountable lead in Pledged delegates. She simply can't catch him at this stage. The next big test for Clinton is Pennsylvania. She has to blow him out of the water 70/30 to take anything meaningful away from that. Her lead was as 20, but is now in single digits. This will all be over after Pennsylvania. I really don't think we're going to the convention with this.
