4. It won't be a 70-30 blowout |
|
because of a low White vote...but for the simple fact that over half the people who will be voting will be Black pretty much confirms that Obama will win. It just depends on by how much.

13. Bad luck for Obama that it's an open primary, though the Republican vote should be reduced |
|
by the fact that 2 of the state's 4 Congressional districts- the most conservative and white ones- have Republican primaries to fill open Congressional seats. The Republican primary on those seats is basically the same thing as the election itself, so that will draw some Limbuagh listeners and reduce their mischief.

20. chuckle. Thanks for the info. |
|
Yes, that should reduce the mischief, unless they are serious morans like those Rethugs in TX who felt "disenfranchised" when they participated in the Dem primary, in order to interfere, but were startled to learn they couldn't also vote in the Republican down-ticket races.

only the states that have votes democratic in the previous election can elect the next candidate. The others do not count.

11. Not likely Mississippi...even though it has the largest Black population in the nation |
|
But I could see South Carolina and maybe one other. You Clintonites amaze me. You're just like the women you follow. You're willing to say McCain can win CA and NY because "Obama can't win big states," but Obama has no shot in southern states with large Black populations...

21. Perhaps not. But having a candidate who runs strongly in the Red states ... |
|
... and doesn't discount them as irrelevant, may help with downticket races, and increase our majorities in the House and Senate. It's called the 50 State Strategy for a reason.

14. I hope he gets on the ground in Mississippi between now and Tuesday |
|
and gets those numbers up. I want Mississippi energized and want to win by at least 20 points!
That will help put this thing back on track and give him a much better fighting chance at Pennsylvania.
I can't wait 7 more weeks for this to be over.

17. obama and clinton people hate each other just like DU |
|
One measure of a deepening divide in the party is that just 56% of Obama voters have a favorable opinion of Clinton. Just 34% of Clinton voters have a favorable opinion of Obama.
If Obama is nominated, just 47% of Clinton voters say they are even somewhat likely to vote for Obama in the general election against John McCain.
If Clinton is nominated, 65% of Obama voters say they are at least somewhat likely to vote for her against McCain.

|
... but there could be a lot of Republican interference, given MS is an open primary and the Republicans have wrapped their nomination.

What amazes me is that somehow doing well in red states is looked down upon. Apparently, we should give up on trying to get new states won and work on winning the same old big blue states. That's how we won the last two elections, right? Oh, wait...
