Is Hillary Clinton a monster?
Q: You don't believe that Senator Clinton is a monster?
A: Of course not.

I mean, that, you know, there is no basis for that. I take her on the basis of what she says. And, you know, there isn't any reason to doubt that.

Q: You said you'd take Senator Clinton at her word that she's not…a monster. You don't believe that she's…
A: No. No, there is nothing to base that on.

As far as I know.

Q: It's just scurrilous…?
A: Look, I have been the target of so many ridiculous rumors, that I have a great deal of sympathy for anybody who gets, you know, smeared with the kind of rumors that go on all the time.

3. I'm glad you brought this up.
Samantha Powers, while retracting her statement and withdrawing which was the politically correct thing to do for Obama's campaign, opened up a general question in my mind. What exactly happened, that she was privy to, that would make her come up with said conclusion? I am not saying anything one way or another- but I am curious as to what transpired, that would prompt someone to say such a thing. Just wondering.

Absence of evidence = evidence of absence?

There are some pretty seismic faultlines in the Democratic Party which were tightly papered over during the Clinton/Gore administrations.

Some of these go back to what is for many ancient history - the done deals re JFK and Bobby Kennedy's assassinations.

I worked in the UN for many years and found that where there was extreme criticism of Bill Clinton it was nearly always about his appeasement of Bush 1 and Bush 2.

Bush 1: for his unimaginable atrocity-peddling while head of the CIA.

Bush 2: for agreeing to expunge all his drinking and drug taking -related history and his criminal behavior viz Arbusto.

Some of my UN colleagues found the whole matter incomprehensible.

Maybe that's where Hillary's jibe is sourced from. I don't know.

That White House Travel Office business also ominous.

Ask the little girl in the red phone ad. Hope you all get to hear what she said about hillary. She said she should have been the last person for Hillary to pick to be in the ad. Wants to make an ad with Obama.

12. I'm not saying she is
Just using her words about Obama being Muslim and highlighting her equivocations.

How she lost me as a voter is probably one of the anecdotes she would be wise to read if she intends to continue in politics.

13. In what context did Senator Clinton "use words" about Senator Obama being a Muslin?
I see it's going around the Internet, but on right-wing websites.

“You don't believe that Senator Obama's a Muslim?” Kroft asked Sen. Clinton.

“Of course not. I mean, that, you know, there is no basis for that. I take him on the basis of what he says. And, you know, there isn't any reason to doubt that,” she replied.

“You said you'd take Senator Obama at his word that he's not…a Muslim. You don't believe that he's…,” Kroft said.

“No. No, there is nothing to base that on. As far as I know,” she said.

“It's just scurrilous…?” Kroft inquired.

“Look, I have been the target of so many ridiculous rumors, that I have a great deal of sympathy for anybody who gets, you know, smeared with the kind of rumors that go on all the time,” Clinton said.

16. So Senator Clinton is saying that she takes Senator Obama at his word that he's NOT a Muslim
and that she empathizes with him because he, too, has been the victim of scurrilous rumors.

What am I missing here?

27. I was being sarcastic
And I'm not saying there's "fire". I'm saying that if we take her words denying that Obama is a Muslim and instead make them about denying she is a monster that the equivocation leaves doubt as to whether or not the speaker really thinks she is not a monster.

30. I suspected you were being sarcastic, but didn't see the . . .
:sarcasm: under your sentences.

If I'm not talking to you face-to-face, it's difficult to ascertain whether your attempting to emphasize a point or being disdainful (hopefully it's the former and not the latter).

Thank you for clarifying your posting.

32. That's really not being fair to monsters ...
and from what I gather, she's never been seen in the same room with the Devil.

The thing the Clinton-lovers are going to have to understand is that their playbook has been read and understood by the remainder of the political class. WJC's wins were at a time when the internet was in its infancy. Today's level of information saturation and instantaneous fact-checking will make if far more difficult to pull off the type of lies and deceit that they are famous for.

Sorry people. This is a campaign between a Progressive and a corporate-DLC-proWar hypocrite. If Billary manages to steal the nomination despite Obama winning more delegates and popular votes, there will be hell to pay. And don't think you can buy him off for a spot on the ticket (does anyone REALLY think Hillary's VP would be #2, in front of WJC????).

This is going to get very unpleasant, but HRC has brought it on to herself. I hope she gets what she deserves.

the current occupants deserve a short trial and a speedy hanging for war crimes. Those who enabled them (and continue to do so) should at least see the inside of a cell for a very long time.
