???????????? Cross the Commander-in-Chief Threshold ???????????? |
|
"demonstrate we can cross the commander-in-chief threshold"
Those were the words Hillary used when she was talking about the qualifications to be POTUS
My question is for those of you that know your candidate well:
what has Hillary or Obama done, experienced or achieved that demonstrates they can (or have) Cross the Commander-in-Chief Threshold
Please explain, and comparing them to the other candidate does not count as their qualification, they have to be able to stand on their own.
Thank you!

1. And what the hell is the threshold? |
|
What does it look like? A steeplechase? A ribbon at the finish line? A great big wall? A glow from a divine being?

even JFK failed (Bay of Pigs).

and told his advisors, all the wise civilains and military men, "NO!" Otherwise we would have ended up invading a Cuba the Soviet Union had pledged to defend.

but the only real qualifications is that you be a natural born citizen, 36 years of age or older, and win more votes in the electoral college than the your opponent.

22. But there really AREN'T any other qualifications. |
|
Which is why all three candidates are equally "qualified".
Any other qualifications are simply the projection of the voters.
Don't accept the meme that Hillary is trying to push... that years in Washington, or military service, or anything else uniquely qualifies someone for the office. Even buying into the meme allows Hillary to make this an issue.

Seriously after seeing the last 7 years I can't imagine either one of them having trouble setting higher bars all around for CIC. So I am not sure why this has been made a big issue. I mean really think about it, any non-incumbent president is really walking into a job that they never have done before.
I am Obama supporter.

Bill Clinton passed it after he'd been president for about a year. I seem to recall he didn't have a real hefty foreign-policy portfolio when he was elected. Neither did the Boy Blunder.

23. I'm saying that if there is a threshold of experience necessary |
|
Bill certainly did not meet it when he made it to office. He was a successful governor of a minor state. I don't buy "threshold" arguments. It would be a valid argument if Obama had never held elective office, but he has held office for years, easily as long as Hillary. It's a hypocritical argument and the harsh light of hyperbole doesn't suit her well.

Being a Governor is excellent experience, because you are running a government on a smaller scale that is set up the same way as the federal government.
But how good of a state gov. is key.
More Gov than Senators have been POTUS
In fact this will be the first sitting senator to become POTUS since JFK

17. It's a tough call and totally subjective. I think Hillary's experience on healthcare |
|
while first lady and working on legislation during her senate tenure has given her an edge over Obama. She also seems to stand out from Obama with her focus on issues, where he speaks in generalities, she provides specifics and timetables. I know he has details also, but, he doesn't convey a sophistication and depth of knowledge in these areas.
