I think that Spitzer and Ferraro's views on GLBT equality are behind the outrage by many... |
|
Obamatons, given the long and unashamed support they gave to Obama's decision not to fire a spreader of hate in order to garner votes. Of course, that act was minimized by his disciples, while at the same time marginalizing those that took issue with it.
Many of those same followers are now very vocal about what they perceive as hateful speech and reprehensible activity. I can only believe their outrage is genuine. Which can only make me wonder if they join the sizeable percentage of Obama's supporters that find truth in what the cured homosexual gospel singer preaches, since the outrage expressed by those hurt by these actions could not have been genuine.

1. Hm. So first, bashing a hypocrite and a race-baiter was "sexist." Now, it's homophobic. |

6. Apply your own standard to both candidates |
|
do you agree with Ferraro that Obama is lucky to be black? do most Hillary supporters?
so when you say that McClurkin represents many Obama supporters, by your own logic, Ferraro's statement represents your side's feelings.
or would you like to reconsider your original argument now?

I also think that the outrage over Trent Lott's comments years ago was realy due to homophobia, cause you know, hes freinds with Larry Craig...or something....

9. Let's face it. The older demographic is much more supportive of gay rights than the |
|
younger demographic.
Don't ask don't tell was a milestone of couragous action in support of gay rights. Stay in the closet is freedom!
DOMA was also another wonderful gay rights milestone.
And the Clintons obvious ability to help democrats get and stay in power is why the Republicans never took over both houses of congress on their watch. This really helped gays.

First of all, I've defended Hillary on the Spitzer thing, and feel nothing but sadness about it, and tons of Obama supporters posted on my thread and agreed with me. So shove that one.
Furthermore, I've consistently criticized Obama for McClurkin. I'm done doing so now. I don't feel like I have to criticize him for it daily. So shove that one.
And what Ferraro said was wrong, though outrage is waay too strong a word for what I feel.
You just make shit up.

11. SHAME on Ferraro and Hilary - I voted for Ferraro for VP and Now Outraged at her comment |
|
that the only reason Obama is doing so well is because he is a "Black." Hilary - demand her resignation Now from your Finance Committee and "REJECT" and "DENOUNCE" her racist comment. I dare you Hilary to repudiate her and disassociate yourself from Ferraro's comments. I DARE YOU SHOW SUCH RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION! But, you won't will you? What a coward! SHAME, SHAME, SHAME

23. Read it Yourself! From the LA TIMES |
|
"If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position," she said for an article aptly headlined "Geraldine Ferraro lets her emotions do the talking."
She went on: "And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept."

18. That and their fear of discussing issues and experience |
|
two of Obama's weaknesses - and when he has to discuss them, he always goes negative instead, playing the race card.
He really owes Clinton and Ferraro and apology. What he's doing is wrong in so many ways. Those are not the personality traits of a good leader and I for one have grave reservations about his abilities given the way he's been running his campaign.

24. Fuck McClurkin, that vile peice of shit. Did you know that he was a Bush supporter. |
|
Donnie McClurkin Fun Facts: A Bush supporter, McClurkin performed for the President at the Republican National Convention 4Yrs. ago. "There is amoral aspect that was overwhelmingly a part of Bush's appeal, "said McClurkin who also appeared in Michigan with Bush during the campaign.
Shortly after, he's quoted on the CBN (Pat Robertson's organization) website saying, "I'm not in the mood to play those who are trying to kill our children."
So now gays are trying to kill our children. Obama played the SC voters with this man and now have the gall to attack Geraldine Ferraro.
