The media is playing into Hillary's hands-knowingly! |
|
I've heard MANY times that the Clintons are great at lowering expectations, making certain states seem important, and controlling the story. Yet they keep allowing them to do it! It's unbelievable! I JUST saw Michelle Cottle from The New Republic say, "It's been pretty amazing how the Clintons have been able to control the story. We're all focusing on Pennsylvania when we could just as easily be focusing on North Carolina or other states along away, but instead we're focusing on Pennsylvania, which is favorable to Hillary, just like Ohio..." Then why do they keep DOING it?

1. Joe Scarborough admitted last weekend that Hillary's people are physically in the newsrooms.. |
|
Telling the reporters what to say on air.
Seems hard to believe that he would admit something like that, but he most certainly did. He thought it was just business as usual.

7. Not if Obama can win states that Dems. don't usually win. And funny how they all include TX |
|
as a big state that proves she can win states we need in Nov. (Not to mention Obama will have won more delegates in TX when the counting is done). And Obama WILL win the same states Hillary could win-and more.

9. What about IL, WI and CT? |
|
We can't win the White House without carrying those reliably blue states, which HRC has proven in the primaries that she can't carry. Because as we all know, if you don't carry a state in the primary, you are GUARANTEED to lose it in the general.
I mean, that's the theory, right?

3. Because that's what they've been told to do by the network bigshots. |
|
Scarborough as much as admitted that on Maher's show on Friday. They get their talking points in the a.m. depending on who's grousing the most and then try to appease the most people.

But it probably wouldn't work.

a week or two. It will downplay Penn - he will still have weeks to campaign in Penn (6 straight weeks of everyday sniping sounds mentally and emotionally exhausting).
I like the trip idea and hope they stick with it.

12. That WOULD be GREAT for him. I heard the media talking about how MCCAIN is going to |
|
do that. Obama should do it, too. That'd get BIG coverage (unless there was a breaking sex scandal at the same time).

Because todays MSM is nothing more than divisions from the same corporations that pay vast sums to PACS to get certain politicians elected.
Its no coincedence that Hillary was on the cover of Fortune magazine last year with the headline the corporations really love her.
Obama has ruffled more than a few feathers in the corporate world over the last year, in fact I read a speech he gave to Wall street investment brokers last year where he told them that our country's current problems could be traced directly to them and that under his administration they and the companies they tout had better stop fleecing the American public.
The MSM is desperate to get another pro-corporate Clinton back in office, especially when Obama intends to make them accountable to the American public.

Obama tells people what they NEED to hear and not necessarily what they WANT to hear, as he always says. Maybe he could use his "future presidency" to tell the media if they don't start covering him more fairly, he won't give them any access to him once he's president.

14. Because she was designated as the nominee a year ago. |
|
It was all set - Clinton vs. McCain; the MSM salivating over sorting through the Clinton's dirty laundry all over again with the eventual truimph of war hero McCain.
They did not expect Obama to be where he is and don't want him to spoil their party.

I know Chris Matthews wanted that. NOBODY expected Obama to where he is but I think he WILL spoil their party.

At the beginning they couldn't get enough of Hillary. They were talking about all the money she raised and how she doesn't make mistakes. I don't think the Clintons thought that the press would be so hard on them once they started making missteps. They have run a sloppy campaign.

the media RAVING about Hillary "winning" EVERY debate, even when the majority of viewers felt otherwise. She was portrayed as perfect and inevitable. And the media wanted to see a "subway series." NOW look what they'll probably be "stuck with"-a 3rd term Bush clone with war scars and a new kid. They better get used to Obama. He's gonna be our nominee and then the president.

|
Edited on Tue Mar-11-08 03:42 PM by andym
It's about the horse race. Campaigns take advantage of the media mindset for their own advantage. In this case, PA is the biggest of the remaining contests, so the Clinton campaign spends all their time talking about it and playing up the big prize theme.

attention. He can be funny while knocking Hillary, just like he did yesterday (but the Spitzer thing took over).
