You know, I like Hillary but her supporters are way too brutal
All in all I am realizing that she's not a bad person and her and Obama are very close on the issues. However, her supporters are like vicious pitbulls and go for the jugular on every little issue that comes around. I feel like I am way more turned off by her supporters than I am by her at this point.

4. I believe that many Obama supporters are treated way more harshly than is
deserved....like me for instance.

I have a thick skin, but I personally get attacked for what I say about public political figures on a political board (like Hillary), and I'm not sure that debate is meant to be about attacking forum members, as much as discussing the issue of contention.

But from what I hear, I'm like one of the worse! :eyes:

51. what's odd, as I can find you saying this about me in a lot of places......
in that you appear to like getting personal with me, but you never bother to post any evidence in where I personally attack DUers in the same way as you choose to do.

I may be a smart ass....but According to DU rules, there are no rules against debating the merits of a political candidate, in particular during primaries....but there are rules about DUers attacking other DUers, which is something I try to stay away from, rather than embrace, as I so often see you do.

That you are the rule breaker who seems to be the judge of things is ironic indeed.....or so, from my perspective, of course. :eyes:

The least great slime war was started by the Obama supporters, you're the ones that started the name calling, using recycle Republican talking points against a Democrat. For months I have held a good view of Obama but thanks to you supporters you remind me of George W. Bush and the zombies he surrounds himself with he acts like he's taking the high road but let he's flunkies like Randi Rhodes do the dirty work for him.

72. All accurate statements,
I'm not going to defend Obama supporters as less harsh than Hillary supporters any more than I will defend Democrats as less partisan than Republicans. In both cases however; one side is more justified.

I say this as someone who is an Obama supporter only by default. Still, he is better than either Republican alternative.

I guess I kind of skimmed over that word without realizing it was included in your list, so... I will exclude the word b*tch, because as horrible and petty and monstorous, and cheating a person as she can be "b*tch," is still out of bounds even in describing a horrible, petty, monstorous, destructive and assholish person.

So in the interests of remaining within the bounds of DU's sensitivities I will describe her instead as a complete and total DICK.

73. Some Barack supporters say they will refuse to vote for Hillary
this is because they percieve her as Republican-lite, whereas when Hillary supporters say they will not vote for Obama MANY report that they will vote for McCain.

I can't speak for all Obama supporters (I'm not really a big supporter myself), but when I consider refusing to vote for Hillary in the GE, it is because of policy, not because I feel that my nominee is OWED the nomination and I want to spite the competition.

Going 'negative' was the worst decision ever.

I do not believe she will win the nomination, and I am even more certain she will not win the general election.

Conversely, Obama's message of hope is a winner.

I don't dislike any of the Hillarity supporters I encounter here on DU or elsewhere, but the more I see of her the more repulsive her personality seems to me.

And that voice - nails on a chalkboard.

Fortunately I've become very adept over the past seven years in the use of the mute button on the remote. In the unlikely event she is elected I anticipate much additional practice.

Progressive my ass. The only thing separating some of her more rabid supporters from the type of idiot that put George Bush in office is an (R) next to their name. If this is the future of progressive politics, if we are at a place where it is not only acceptable to drag people through the mud, as the GOP did with Clinton, but considered fair game to do the same to those within your OWN party, then you have to question whether our future is worth having.

There is NOTHING progressive about some of the stuff going on here.

Edited on Fri Mar-14-08 08:16 PM by Crisco
With Obama posters who are willing to drop the charades and intelligently discuss the campaign, I'm more than willing to reciprocate.

There have been two times that I'm aware of, when the shit got so thick that I started threads that could only have been offensive to Obama posters, got alerted on up the ying yang but allowed to remain. I did it because their attacks on Hillary Clinton had gone so above and beyond the scope of decency that the only thing to do was hold up a mirror and match them in offense.

Even now I've got a graphic I'm holding in reserve that lays out my exact feelings on Obama's campaign.

I've got an ignore list with what must be 200 names or more - supporters of both candidates. Most of them are either trolls or idiots, but there are a few who, I'm sad to say, are posters whose threads I used to read in other forums.

I have been *personally* attacked by an Obama poster and took the high road. Two days later I wrote a negative in her thread and she made a public show of putting me on her ignore list, then sent me an accusatory inbox message that couldn't be responded to, because of the ignore. This campaign is making people do nutty things.

Probably because they coordinate their spamming of GD:P.

Half of them are shills from HillaryIs44 and such sites.

The other half are Freepers here to stir the shit.

67. I disagree with your analysis. It has become nearly impossible to
post a positive thread about Senator Clinton on this board without having some Obama supporters hijack it and turn it into a hate-fest. To be sure, there has been name calling and nasty remarks from both sides, but I know of many Clinton supporters who are no longer posting in GD-P because there is so little discussion on real issues and so much hostility towards Clinton and her supporters.
