Once they start agreeing with the likes of Coulter and Hannity and Limbaugh there is no defense. And no offense. It's plain to see that the separation of church and state is no longer an issue for Hillary supporters, and that means you are no longer debating with a reasonable left wing mind. Obama's church should be about as important as Ferraro's "white victim" speech. Neither have to do with the race at hand, but according to DU these are the issues.

There is a longstanding rule here that one cannot use right wing propaganda to attack Democrats, but the new interpretation of that rule seems to be that one *can* use right wing sources so long as they are critical of the Clintons.

Consequently, for some weeks now we have seen people posting the likes of Charles Krauthammer, Peggy Noonan, Andrew Sullivan, and David Brooks. A few of us pointed out the danger of opening the door to fascists, but we were hooted down. After all, it was just so darn much fun posting Peggy Noonan's bizarre fantasies and replaying the freeper greatest hits of the late 90s when The Monster was the target.

Well, once the genteel fascists were acceptable at DU, it was only a matter of time before the knuckledraggers got invited in, so now we have Hannity and Rush and jokes about Monica Lewinski and breathless accounts of Genital Flowers's new revelations.

I don't like it either, but no one can be surprised. It started when Krauthammer and Sully became DU heroes.
