Why on earth do people respond to flame-bait threads? Let them die.
Dont get me wrong, im guilty too. But especially with obama giving such a great speech today, and the whacko hillary-can-do-no-wrong types posting such obvious nonsense, why on earth respond to it? Just let the threads die. Its the perfect response to such obvious nonsense.

10. how about this...
if some obviously wrong flame-bait comment gets under your skin and you just have to say something, post your own thread with something positive to say in it, and make a reference to the dumb comment in your thread. That way you kill two birds with one stone, and dont give the persons thread the attention that it doesnt deserve.

5. I'm with you! I'm not going to respond to those threads with divisive headlines.......
Edited on Tue Mar-18-08 11:19 AM by FrenchieCat
Because Obama's commentary on our society via his speech was more about each of us looking inward and making an assessment of our own approach, and what we have versus what we could have; a choice for the future.

Those who are able to find the negativity to proudly hold up as what they got from Obama's earnest words have made their choice. We know where they want to stay. These are the 10% who will always place their own needs being above those of our collective society, because that is simply who they are, and what they are above.

I have decided not to help them along by debating an issue that they obviously care least above. at this point, I will have to let them do their own soul searching, and they can sleep with their own choice.

20. these flame-bait threads remind me of the distractions obama was talking about...
thats all they are, distracting people from the important stuff. Mind you there are plenty of good honest comments from hillary posters that criticize obama's comments or policies, and rightly so. But the with the obvious nonsense, i mean really, whats the point?

23. I'm with you in general but there are certain threads you can't leave unanswered
because weeks, months down the road when someone is googling for information, the last think you want them to land on is a thread from DU crucifying Obama with lies that go unchallenged in the thread.

31. Trust me, if someone is googling, finds a thread from here with a bunch of nonsense about obama,
and takes it for gospel because noone replied to the charges in the thread, that person is going to pretty much believe anything.
