Obama needs to act and not just talk?
In response to Obama's good speeches I have heard so many come out and say well words are words but actions do speak louder.

A president must be able to think and understand the issues clearly and pass judgements on them. That is what is expected from a president. Hillary Clinton did also give a speech while she voted for the Iraq war resolution. Her words and speech then meant something. As a politician and a leader words mean alot.

A president must have a vision and such vision will propel the country forward.

This is not the MLK era. This is not the JFK era. People do not march on Washington in those great numbers anymore.

Obama just did not speak today. He just did not throw out words. He challenged Americans to look into themselves as they look at Pastor Wright. That itself is an act.

Let me turn it down a few octaves and translate.

"We need a President that will roll up her sleeves and get to work rather than make nice speeches."

becomes

"We need a hard-working white President, not a stereotypical 'lazy n****r'."

thewiseguy has it right. As Obama said, words do matter. He got up there and challenged us to be better than we were. That is action.
